Hi All,

I'm looking for Littons in the 1851 Lancashire census.  I have the Lancs discs but not the indexes for the above area.  I have in the 1861 census (RG9 2743/110 Page 20 in Bold in Farnworth) Margaret Litton born c1799 Sankey, Mary born c1832 Sankey, George born c1838 Warrington (or 1837 from 1871), Joseph born c1840 Warrington.

Could someone let me have the index references for the surname LITTON in Gt Sankey/Warrington, or in Bold in Farnworth in 1851?  I can then look them up and see if the father is there.

Thanks
Jean

If anyone has access to the 1851 census for Hemel Hempstead, please could you do a lookup for the following family in 1861 as follows:

William Gurney Head, born 1816 Hemel Hempstead
Mary Ann Gurney Wife, born 1816 Kingsey? Bucks

In 1861 they are living in what looks like Cotteralls St, Boxmoor and in 1871 Cottrell Rd which is probably the same place.

I'm hoping that they will have a son John Gurney with them born 1841 as I'm trying to tie the families together.  I have them in the later census records.

Any help much appreciated,

Jean

Kent Lookup Requests / 1841 Census LYNCH Camden St, Maidstone
« on: Wednesday 10 August 05 20:52 BST (UK)  »
Hi All,

I'm helping some friends out with their family tree and am struggling to find a marriage for Edward Lynch born Ireland 1817, a tailor, and Fanny Dadswell born Tunbridge Wells 1821.  They had a son, Edward, born 30th March 1844 at Camden St, Maidstone and am wondering if they may have been living there at the time of the census in 1841.  I don't know what indexes are available for Kent (most of my research is Lancs/Cheshire) but if it's not too much trouble I'd love an 1841 lookup.

I've checked the free indexes for a marriage but can find nothing, also wondering if there are any available baptism indexes where I might find Fanny (have checked the IGI).  There is some mystery about this as she had 2 more children in Blackburn where she gave a maiden name of Dadswell but then in 1857 says maiden name Field, and 1860 maiden name Brown!  She died in 1868 so I don't think that Edward had remarried.  Any advice on where to look would be greatly appreciated, I have the family in 1861 and beyond in Blackburn and have requested an 1851 lookup on the Lancashire list.

Thanks
Jean

Dear All,

I'm helping some friends with their family tree, and would really appreciate a lookup in 1851 census for Blackburn and the census reference.  They were on Kirkham Lane for the birth of Daughter Mary in 1846 and at 52 Kirkham Lane when daughter Ellen was born in 1854.  The family is:
Edward Lynch born 1817 Ireland
Fanny Lynch born 1821 Tunbridge Wells, Kent
Edward Lynch born 1844 Maidstone, Kent
Mary Lynch born 1846 Blackburn

Thank you for any assistance with this.

After help please from the 1841 census again if anyone is able to help.

I'm looking for Sarah STELFOX who died at Crowley Lodge, Crowley, Cheshire in September 1842 so I'm hoping she was there the year before!  She should be a widow, possibly with one of her children who could be: Eliza, John, Elizabeth, Sarah, Edward, Peter, William or Selene!

Any help with the confusing Stelfoxes greatly appreciated - you'd think it would be an easy name to research!!

Thanks

Bedfordshire Completed Look ups / 1851 Census VERNEY, Markyate St or Luton
« on: Saturday 09 July 05 18:48 BST (UK)  »
Is there anyone who can help me with an 1851 lookup for my VERNEY family?

Using the 1861 census their ages should be:
Jonathan, Head aged 57 born Essex
Lydia, Wife aged 43 born St Albans
Eliza, Dau aged 6 born Market Street, Beds
Maria, Dau aged 4 born Luton, Beds

I can't find them in the 1851 for Hertfordshire but I'm not sure whether they will be in Market (Markyate, Markgate) Street or Luton as Maria later always gives her birthplace as Markyate St.  If anyone can assist it will be greatly appreciated.

Herts Completed Lookup Requests / 1851 Crouch Field, Hemel Hempstead, GURNEY
« on: Tuesday 07 June 05 18:30 BST (UK)  »
I have my GURNEY family living at Crouch Field, Hemel Hempstead in 1843 (birth of son George) and the 1861 census (RG9 839/44 Page 14).  Parents are John 1821 and Emma 1825 (although her age does vary!) Children:
George born 23 Dec 1843 and perhaps more siblings?!   ???

I do have siblings born after 1851, but it still leaves a gap and I'd love to know if there were any more children.

Is anyone able to help?

Thanks,
Jean

I wonder if anyone can help me establish the correct SCHOFIELD family conclusively in time for my father-in-laws 80th birthday party this weekend!  :)

I'm looking for Joseph Schofield aged 33-35(!) born in county
Wife Sarah aged c35 not born in county
Children: Thomas c12, John 9, William 4

They were at Bank Top. Leesfield, Oldham in the 1851 census but their ages vary wildly between census's.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks
Jean
