Ido not think we are tracing the same family all though the Darkes family came from Bewdley.  I am looking for Charles Darkes who married Sarah Welch in 1915 he was the son of Joseph and Emma Darkes of Bewdley.

My grandfather's half sister was Sarah Welch, she also had a brother William
James born 1891 and a sister Caroline Emma born 1882.  They were the children of James Welch and Caroline /Emma Scriven.  Very keen to exchange info.

I think the address Famicote is in actual fact Farmcote which is very near to Claverley which is also near to Bridgnorth.

I am researching a marriage about 1900+ would you have to produce a birth certificate to verify your name prior to the marriage.  Birth surname is different to 1901 census.

Hello Dethridge,
I have just received the birth cert for my grandfathers sister Alice Amos which gives her mothers maiden name as Ann Amos formerly Dethridge and her husbands name as Theophilus the cert was dated 1877.  The Amos's cannot be found on the 1881/1871 census but appear to be round the Aston area by the way my surname is Amos.  Hope this will help you with this search and any information you may have would be gratefully received
                                            Regards,

the newspaper that would have covered Much Wenlock would have been the Bridgnorth Journal which is  a weekly rag.
