Hi all, trying to find out more info on Samuel Openshaw  born  c 1821 Elton Fold, Bury - father John (a farmer)  and mother Ann (maiden name unknown) as I believe and indeed hope that he could be the brother of my GGG Grandfather Charles Openshaw ( born c 1822 and married to Rachel Johnson)
Charles marriage certificate  states that his father was John Openshaw occ Farmer and their residence was Firlane, Bury - Charles was a joiner and died c 1850.
Any info would be great!

I have lots of info re the 'Openshaw' family and am more than willing to share it!!!

Trying to make a connection between the Openshaw family and the Rothwell family.
my ancestor was William Rothwell Openshaw b 1881 Manchester, there was also a Peter Rothwell Openshaw b1850 in Ainsworth (parents Joseph and Ellen), hoping there may be a link to a Charles Openshaw b1821, Lancs ( father John, a farmer).
Any info gratefully recv'd.

Hi Jeff, yes that is the David I am connected to, he had 3 sons one from his first marriage David and two from his second (although I don't think he and Alice actually married) they were my Grandfather Ernest Bradburn (taking the name of Alice's first husband Samuel Bradburn) born 1899 in Manchester, he also went to Canada - Winnipeg c1920???, with his wife Mary, who we believed died in Canada and his two sons Kenneth and Ernest jr (this Ernest we believe died in Canada) - my Grandfather returned to England presumably following the deaths of Mary and his son - they went to Winnipeg.
Davids other son was Harold Andrews, who stayed in Canada.
I will try to find out where they were.

Sorry Mo, new to this I don't understand your message, my Charles lived at Brinks Brow ( I think), with Rachel and their  son JOhn b 1841- hope this helps!
