You don't say which part of Canada.

There is a James Inglis in the British Columbia death records, but it is hard to know from the details if this is the correct person.

The Common Room / Re: Can anyone interpret this? I am very puzzled.

Hi,

Could it be a correction to the entry made at a later date by the registrar.  He has initialled the correction.

Maybe he also kept a record of such ammendments and this one is number 11 on that list.

All speculation, but your knowledge from elsewhere would support the view that the entry was ammended to insert the correct father's name.

Hi,

I think they are one and the same.

I looked at the Parish records and didn't see any Lucretia Hunt in the time period I was looking at.

I don't recall seeing any Lucretia with a diferent surname either although I wasn't really looking for one.

I rechecked the image and the entry as I thought it was worth checking if the name was a badly written Lousia.  However it has been correctly transcribed as Lucretia.

The occupation however is given as Blacksmith wid.

Looking at the parish records for Thaxted.  This would seem to be your family

previous entry is for William with same date and same parents.

2 Nov 1823, Matilda daughter of Joseph and Louisa Sturgson of Thaxted, Smith

7 Oct 1827, James son of Joseph and Louisa Sturgeon of Thaxted, Blacksmith

Marriage

Essex Completed Lookup Requests / Re: Marriage/Baptism look up please
« on: Tuesday 31 January 06 17:25 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

I looked at the Thaxted records.

I could find no reference to the marriage between 1802 and 1809

I could find no reference to a baptism of Ann Pyne between 1789 and 1803

The following baptisms would appear to be your family

Hunt, Reuben son of Reuben and Ann H born 22 June 1809, baptised 3 Sept 1809

Hunt, William son of Reuben and Ann H born 8 Nov 1809, baptised 2 Dec 1810

Hunt, Mary daughter of Reuben and Ann H born 25 Oct 1812, baptised 28 Oct 1812

Hope this helps

Sue
