Sorry typo!!

The 1871 family are def the right ones (for 'my' Charles) was what I was trying to say, you are right the 1861 ones are totally different.

I have the marriage cert for Henry Manley and Matilda Wills/Wells and also a birth cert for Charles Manley b 1870 parents Henry Manley and Matilda nee Wills/Wells.  What has hampered me is that I only had Charles's marriage cert for a long time and on that he said his father was Harry Manley, Horse dealer. Charles brothers all went on to be horse dealers and he himself is described as one in one reference but for years I could not tie up Harry with Henry.

Hi, Thanks for confirming  these which I already have along with lots of other Manleys.

Sarah and Robert Hughes daughter Sarah I believe was born in Williton, Somerset about 1870 although I haven't found a birth certificate for her. Some censuses she is recorded as being born in Wellington and I can't find a birth there but one census says Williton so I'm going to try that one.

As for her mother one census says she was born in Langport so that's another possibility.

It's really the father Harry/Henry Manley I am more interested in rather then the Hughes as I have loads of them!

I have the marriage cert for Henry Manley and Matilda Wells they are definitely the 1861 family you refer to and do have all the right children.

Are they in your tree?

Hi,
I am researching my partner's family and have Robert Hughes aka Jones and Sarah possibly Davies as his Great Great Grandparents. their daughter Sarah married Charles Manley in Offwell Devon in 1891 Witnesses were Leonard Hughes and Patience Orchard.  I have drawn a blank as far as Robert Hughes's wife Sarah and Robert Hughes's headstone in Honiton Cemetery doesn't give anything away!

I am looking for information about the Manley family too.  Charles Manley I think was born in Uplyme in 1870, I have a birth certificate which I feel (after 9 years of searching) is probably the correct one, his parents being Henry Manley and Matilda nee Wells. On his marriage certificate he said his father was Harry Manley a Horse dealer and certainly his brothers went on to be horse dealers and he himself is recorded as such on his marriage certificate. As for his Mother the only possible one on  a census is called Emily in 1891 so that was no help, in 1871 she was called Matilda the same as on the tentative birth certificate I have.

If anyone has any links to any of these families I would love to hear from you, after all these years of searching with very little to go on I need a break!

Thanks

Hi, Yes it  was my message.

My Family did live at 23 St Bridget's Ave between 1881 and 1885. George Woodward Jnr was born there in 1885, Emma Mary MIHILL nee ZUMACH was his mother.

What conncection do you have to St Bridgets Ave??

Thank you, we have all these and some more of the same era!

I am interested to know more about Richard Christian Zumach, where he came from and who his wife was.  There is a younger Richard Christian who is his son presumably, the brother of Emma Mary and  who married a Catherine Seale in 1870.  They had a daughter Mary Josephine Zumach in 1873.

Hoping someone spots this unusual name.

Hi, Zumach is my brick wall.

My great grandmother was Emma Mary Zumach b about 1848 in Dublin, daughter of Richard Christian Zummach a shipwright. She married James Mihill, a royal Engineer in Dublin in 1865 and had 4 children in Dublin, he must have died though we can find no record ,as she then married George Woodward in Dublin in 1881 and had a son also George b in 1885 in Dublin.

The family moved to Birmingham UK and a daughter Alice was born in 1887. This was my grandmother.  The Milhill family were jewellers and goldsmiths.

I am hoping someone here will recognise the name as I know very little about this family.
