Lookup needed for Elizabeth Rosanna Smith b. 7 Oct 1894 Milton, Gravesend. baptised 12 May 1895 Holy Trinity Church, Milton, Gravesend. Died 12 April 1926 Bethnal Green, London

Can't find Marriage or family details, childrens' names etc.

Distant relative of mine but also of a couple of folks who have contacted me.

Northumberland Lookup Requests / Trial at Newcastle, Execution at Durham 1950 details?

Hi folks I wonder if anyone who can visit the Newcastle or other nearby library can do a lookup of the newspapers for Newcastle for 1950 please?

I have some info from some folks on the Durham board that states:-

At Northumberland Assizes held at Newcastle on 5th May 1950, George Finlay Brown was convicted of the murder of Mrs. Mary Victoria Longhurst, 23, of King Street, North Shields on March 11th , 1950, He was executed 11th July 1950.

The info that I already had was that there was an execution at Durham of George Brown aged 23 on 11th July 1950 for the murder of Mary Longhurst (girlfriend). I do not have a date when the crime was committed so at a guess April/May 1950, although it could have been earlier than this.

If possible I would like to get more info on this as Mary was mother to one of my cousins. For the record (if this is the one) Mary married an uncle of mine so the reference to the 'girlfriend of George' is not what I expected.

Hi folks I wonder if anyone can do a lookup of the newspapers for Durham around 1947-50 please?

There was an execution at Durham of George Brown aged 23 on 11th July 1950 for the murder of Mary Longhurst (girlfriend).

If possible I would like to get more info on this as Mary was mother to one of my cousins. For the record (if this is the one) Mary married an uncle of mine Leslie Charles Longhurst b Gravesend, Kent so the reference to the 'girlfriend of George' is not what I expected.

Just looking up some info on IGI and a couple of occupations have the suffix of Tc, e.g. Plumber Tc and Carpenter Tc. Simple question, what does the Tc stand for?

Hi I have an ancestor in the 1881 census she is shown as:- Bessie SAWTELL, Serv, U, Female, age 21, born at Wimbledon, Surrey, England, Occupation: Nurse.

Dwelling:    Augustus Road Struan
Census Place:    Wandsworth, Surrey, England
Public Records Office Reference: RG11
Piece / Folio:    0656 / 110
Page Number:    29

I have looked up the road name and it seems to be in Wandsworth, London, and could be Struan House, 44 Augustus Road, Wandsworth. Anyone have access to the census image to see if there is anything else on it to confirm the address in full please?

Kent / Can't access PRs on CityArc

Hi Folks care to check the CityArc site and see if you can view the prs? All I get is a blank window apart from the CA logo. I use this http://cityark.medway.gov.uk/query/results/?Mode=Search&PathList=%2FZ4a_Medway_Ancestors%2F%0A&SearchWords=&DateList= but if I go to the home page and then select Parish Registers Online I get the same problem.
