Kent Lookup Requests / 2 Robert Peter Plumbs chr 1858 & 1860
« on: Saturday 30 August 08 22:58 BST (UK)  »
Hi folks, I'm helping out someone who has the following in their tree:-

Robert Peter Plumb chr 13 Aug 1858 Holy Trinity, Milton by Gravesend
and
Robert Peter Plumb chr 14 Sep 1860 Holy Trinity, Milton by Gravesend
This Robert also had a sister Sara Elisabeth chr same date.

The parents for both were Robert Plumb and Ellen Plumb [Webster]
I have looked on CityArc and have confirmed these details from the Holy Trinity PRs.

I can't find deaths for either, at a guess I would say the first chr 1858 died young, hence the second son with the same Christian names.

Can somebody find a little more info about them than I have please  :-*

Thanks

Technical Help / Curl.exe and Family Tree Builder
« on: Monday 25 August 08 22:56 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I have been having a problem lately when I am using the My Heritage Family Tree Builder v2.0.0.657.  I get the curl.exe process start up and more or less take full control of the cpu, makes it run at 100% continuously there fore making the comp unresponsive.

It starts running as soon as I edit or enter any info at all and wants to make a net connection. And it then builds up a number of identical processes.

I usually know what to allow connection and what not to, but have not found the answer to ths one yet. The cpu usage is the same when allowing OR denying connection. So anybody know what this is, what it does etc?

Oxfordshire / [Solved sort of] Who's the daddy of William Lord?
« on: Thursday 24 July 08 23:38 BST (UK)  »
Hi there.

I have just obtained the copy of b cert of William Lord it shows b 23 Feb 1844 reg 25 Mar 1844. He was born in Hanborough, his mother was Elizabeth Lord.

In the 'father's' box it has Phillip Crawford that has been crossed out with a series of crosses and a number 22 written above it. In the box 10 (name entered after reg) is a diagonal line with the words twenty two written in the right border.

There is confusion as to who is the father as on the marriage cert it is shown as Philip Lord. Also Elizabeth Lord shows up in later census's still as Elizabeth Lord (Unmarried) with a son William, but living with Phillip Crawford.

Need a bit on info really what do I look at next please?

Kent / County or National GRO for certs?
« on: Tuesday 13 May 08 12:45 BST (UK)  »
Hi folks,

Just a simple question really, has anyone had any experience with ordering certificates from the Kent GRO as opposed to the National one?

Just wondered if there was any advantage in using the 'local' one as atm the main office seems to take a couple of weeks at least to deliver a cert on a normal order.

Thanks LordOfKent

Hi folks,

Trying the add to the info I already have on the above who was my ggrandad on my dad's side. The details I have atm are as follows:

William Lord b. Mar 1844 in Church Hanborough, Oxfordshire. died About 1895.
On 15 May 1875 at Christs Church, Battersea, Wandsworth, Surrey, he married my ggran,
Annie Keziah Garrad b. abt 1851 in Great Wilbraham. died ?

They had 1 son William Frank b. about 1879 in Battersea, London.

If possible I would like to confirm William's actual d.o.b. and death and any related info of course.

I started off researching my family tree in the Kent forum where you can view my previous  posts here http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,262747.0.html

Hi, just a quick question.

When researching, and the search takes me out of a forum's county, is it ok to continue to post requests in the original forum or should it be moved to a new one that matches the county at the time?
