« on: Monday 18 April 16 17:31 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I tried that but no luck ,I have now found Edward Lewis with Wife Ann also on the 1841/1851 and 1861 Census in Flintshire
So it cant be that.
Its looking like they are two Edward Lewis's one a Stone Mason and one a Brickmaker, one with wife of Ann and one with a wife called Catherine.
Thanks for your suggestion I appreciate it.

Flintshire Lookup Requests / Ruth Lewis

Hi
Can anybody help please.

My Gt Grandmother x3 was born Ruth Lewis in Buckley Flintshire in approx 1816 she died in 1878 in Cheshire.
She married John Spencer in 1840 and they are living in Flintshire on the 1841 Census.
From her marriage certificate I have found out that her father was an Edward Lewis (Brick Maker.)
On the same 1841 Census Ruth and John are next door to an Edward Lewis (Brick maker)and His Wife Catherine.Who I presumed were her parents.Which I know is a mistake never presume!!!
I cannot find a birth on the Flintshire Parish records for Ruth Lewis with parents Edward Lewis and Catherine.
I have found one but it says her parents were Edward Lewis and Ann Griffith
Can anybody suggest what I do now as I am out of idea's.
Many thanks
Cheryl

Hi

Can anybody tell me where the Parish Records for Whitchurch are held.

My Grandfather x 4 Edward Broomfield (Bromfield)was born in Whitchurch in c 1770 and married my Grandmother x 4 Emma Welch in September 1790 also in Whitchurch.

I am stuck now as I don't know quite where to go next.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
Cheryl

Hi Gaffy,

Didn't know I'd posted it in the wrong place - I haven't got I lot of knowledge of the Geoagraphy of Northern Ireland.

I was wrong you are right Zachariah Wife was Elizabeth Mullen and not Mary (don't know where I got Mary from) sorry to confuse.

I have found a Zachariah Stevenson in Stokesey Yorkshire on the 1861 Census just not sure if thats him.

No your right with regards to dates, where daughter married My great uncle in the Uk in May 1915 it states on the Marriage certificate that Zachariah was alive and listed as a Gamekeeper.
Sadly he got killed in Oct of the same year but it states on his Army records that his wife was living at the St  Kilda street address at the time.
In Sept 1916 his elder brother got killed in WW1 and in his will he left all his worldy goods to his sister in Law Sarah Spencer at the St Kilda address.
Somebody checked the Electoral roll for St Kilda Street dated 1920 and it show that Sarah Spencer and Elizabeth Stevenson were living in the house but no mention of Zachariah, so i am assuming he died between 1915 and 1920 - but thats just a guess.

Fasinated by the info regarding his time as a gamekeeper.

Where can I read this info for myself?

Thank you so much

Rgds

Hi Pat

Yes thats what I found.

Cant believe Alli found him in 1861 I have been looking for 6 years.

Just need him in 1871 now.

He was a bit of a mystery man,I know he enlisted in the 64th Foot in Oct 1871 so he should be on the 1871 Census somewhere.

He never married my Gt Gran we are assuming he could have been married to somebody whilst he was in the Army may be overseas.
