Dublin / Re: charles william bond
« on: Friday 18 November 11 23:27 GMT (UK)  »
Thanks for that. I didnt realise civil registration in ireland was later than 1861. How frustrating. All i know is on the census in england and on the marriage records in india it says drogheda dublin everytime so i was not aware that it wasnt really in or around dublin. Sorry .  :-\ All i have is drogheda. And i have no clue as to denomination. Think catholic. Well michael o'sullivan , the father of the bride was definately catholic, as when he returned from being a surgeon in india he came to live with the nuns in northampton somehwere. So i am presuming they were both catholic families.

Hi all
Just wondering if anyone can find a birth of a charles william bond born around 1861 in drogheda dublin possibly to a jonathan bond.??? Charles william bond was a lift engineer, /engineer and married, we think , a ellen o'sullivan , daughter of michael o'sullivan , in around 1884 in india. Ellen had formerly married a william george harold wilson around 1875 ish in india, then he died and left her with three youn g children. they eventually all moved back to england, remainingh in london/camberwell area. Not sure when charles william bond died. have found one in 1933 aged 71, but not certain this is him.
can anyone out there help with the bonds in dublin, drogheda???
hopefully

Hi again
Just been reliably informed that francis mcintosh and sarah nee graham also have a marriage in 1799 in canonbie, is this normal, or could it just be banns read in both parish's.?
Also have been probably getting mixed up with two brothers, james mcintosh-born around 1741 in canonbie and charles born about 1850, both to francis mcintosh and hanna nee forrester/forster. Both brothers had a son francis born around a similar time period. James was married to mary bell and i have been posted by the marvelous people on here their burials in canonbie church yard. So, even though i am unable to find burials of charles or margaret nee teasdale yet, in arthuret, alston or canonbie, i have been helped to find what is more or less certainly the correct parents deaths .
so thanks to all

Hi
I have a sarah graham marrying francis mcintosh at canonbie in 1799, and im more or less certain that francis's parents were now james mcintosh born canonbie and mary bell born around 1740's in canonbie. I had thought the parents were charles and mary mcintosh nee teasdale, but have discovered that both brothers had sons named francis at around the same time. H\as anyone any info on the parents of these two brothers, james and charles mcintosh. Charles was born in 1750, james approx 1740. Parents names were francis Mcintosh born 1709 in canonbie and hanna forrester/forster.

ps have seen the m.i pics of burials of james and mary in canonbie churchyard, living at hollos, or hollows. Which is the correct name for the area does anyone know. ?

Ive since had new info which reliably informs me that francis mcintosh born 1774/1778 ish was not the son of charles and margaret nee teasdale, but instead the son of james mcintosh and mary nee bell. James and mary had a francis in canonbie and charles, james's brother , had a francis also born in alston or arthuret. So, i have been confusing the parents, easily done i suppose when both brothers had a son named francis at around the same time period.
So although i have been unable to find burials for charles and mary nee teasdale , i have discovered that francis's parents were james and mary and found their burials thanks to the people on here. So thankyou very much to you all.

thankyou for that. appreciate it. Unfortunately i cant fit any of my mcintosh's in to any of those just yet, but they may be useful later. I have a francis mciintosh and wife hanna forrester/forster with children being born from around 1730 up to 1751 in canonbie. One of the male children may have been father to one of these persons buried, but as yet cant make a match. My ancestor, charles mcintosh, married and had children in alston . But one of his children who lived and was born in alston had children baptised backk in canonbie which made me think they continued to baptise their children in canonbie from time to time. And this sis what makes me wonder if perhaps they were buried there also. Obviously not, back to the drawing board.
thanks again
