Was the relative they were visiting Delphine May Eade as she was in the Bexley hospital you mention Cosmos and I see you are researching or have links with the Eade surname?

Interesting, the person who made the original post Cosmos is researchin Eade family as Edna who was killed by the bomb had links to the Eade family

My mum lived in South East London at the time and still talks about a German bomber plane flying really low.
The pilot dropped a bomb on a school full of young children including her cousin Edna Brooks who was sadly killed along with some of her other school friends.http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/ww2peopleswar/stories/68/a2333468.shtml
