The Common Room / Hampshire House Parliament
« on: Monday 12 October 20 15:43 BST (UK)  »
Good afternoon,

I have just found some information about my grandfather, Christopher Lancaster, who apparently campaigned with Lloyd George and Campbell Bannermann in 1910 and then became "Commissioner of Works in the Hampshire House Parliament in 1911". I cannot find any information at all on internet. What was the Hampshire House Parliament" ???

I would be very grateful for any help.

Many thanks

Tilly ???

Oh must have been Woolies!! :D

The family resemblance is still there... I did a Zoom yesterday with my cousins and when I see the daughter of Kath (the one holding baby Ruth), it's like looking in a mirror!

xx

Thank you so much, Pat and Ian! They are fantastic!

I have sent all the coloured photos  to my cousins, who are delighted to see their mothers, aunts and Uncle Frank in colour and have asked me to pass on their thanks to everyone:)

Poor little Frank.... I feel sorry for him, even if he has got the wrong knee!

I am very glad Arsenal won - although I suppose it must have been an old match and maybe not a surprise.  ;D

Thank you again so much to everyone

Or cheese...

I've asked my cousin who has the photo to have a good look to see if there is anything else.

I'll let you know 🤔

Hello Jim, That is wonderful, thank you so much!! I shall send it straight to my cousins! :D

Thank you, too, Ian - I hope the team you want wins (although, as a Londoner, I have to hope it's Arsenal!!! ;))

Carol - I didn't even see the bandaged knee..... poor Frank  :'(

Can I slip in a picture of the back of the photo? I am trying to make out what it says.... It looks like  "dance" to me, but a strange thing to write on the back of the photo.... although one of my grandmothers wrote shopping lists on the back of hers!

Again - many thanks xxx
