« on: Friday 13 July 12 13:54 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I am trying to research this person as he maybe my great grandfather.
On FindMyPast i have seen that he was in this war with the Kings Royal Rifle Regiment. He was injured in 1900 at the Battle of the Twin Peaks. There is no further information about him. I have found out that he enlisted in the territorrial reserves in 1914 and that where he states that he served in the krrr. I was wondering if anyone has access to information that gives if he got any medals, service history, appearance et..

Thankyou

jackie

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / William Ward 1874-1953
« on: Monday 09 July 12 21:31 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I am in the process of looking at my dad`s side of the family. my grandfather was Arthur william augustus ward, his father was William Ward and i know that he had a sister Elizabeth and another called Renee,(possibley Irene) and a brother called John. By 1916, his father had remarried to Jessie Frost and they lived in Bushey until they died.
Is there any rootchatters who may have this family in their tree. I think arthur was born around 1908 but it could have been earlier. I have tried finding them all on the 1911 but no definite  answers yet. I have got a posting on the hertfordshire section and i have had some excellent help, i just need to confirm from where did the family come from, William was born 1874 and died 1953 aged 79, i found his grave at st.james church yard in bushey.

I look forward to hopefully someone being connected in some way.

Thank you

Jackie

Hi

I am researching my dad`s side of the family at the moment, i recently found the grave of his grandfather William Ward and his wife Jessie, he passed away sept 21st 1953 aged 79 and his wife, June 4th 1955 aged 66. I have tried finding them in the 1911 census as i know that they were married in 1910 but they are not to be found. My dad`s father, Arthur William Ward was born around 1908 , so i assume jessie was his step mother. Again i am having trouble confirming where he was born. Is there any rootschatters doing the same line or have any information about them. i would like to find out what his occupation was and where they lived. I look forward to hopefully some new leads.

Thank you

Lincolnshire / george northing- grantham
« on: Wednesday 24 June 09 19:49 BST (UK)  »
hi

I have just discovered that my ggg aunt mary ann johnson(nee farmer) from Hatfield hertford turned up in Grantham in 1883 living as the wife of George Northing even though she was still married to Joseph johnson. On the 1891 census Joseph claims to be still married but by 1901 he has married the widow from next door. Is there anyone doing the Northing family line and can anyone locate a marriage for George and Mary. I know that George died in 1904 and Mary passed away in 1940 in Grantham never returning to her family in hertfordshire.

thanks

Hi

Does anyone know if Grill Street existed in 1909 as on the marriage certificate  my great grandmother states she is living at no 8 and my great grandfather is at no 7. Aterwards they moved to 15 croft street where they lived until they died. On the 1901 census Emily is living at number 14 croft street. I dont know if the certificate has been copied wrong or did this street actually exist as i have been unable to find it.

thanks

Leicestershire / look up request - emma sparks
« on: Sunday 23 March 08 17:54 GMT (UK)  »
hi,

I am researching my great great grandmother Emma meadows Sparks. I know that she was born in Leicestershire in 1859. Has anyone access to the 1861 census as i have seen today that there was an Emma Sparks a nure child in Leicestershire on the 1861 census. I would like to know if her mother was Elizabeth Sparks or was she being looked after by someone else. Next I have found a Emma Sparks aged 12 in 1871 at St.Thomas. If someone has a transcription of this one i would be grateful.
By 1877 Emma was definitely living in Hatfield, Hertfordshire as she married my great, great grandfather Joseph Farmer in that year.

Look forward to hearing from someone soon

thanks

« on: Saturday 08 March 08 23:10 GMT (UK)  »
 hi

Please could someone clarify for me if John W Hindley married Jane saxton in 1879 or Jane Bowker in 1884 in Prestwich . I know that my great grandfather George Hindley was born in 1884 in Prestwich and that his father was John but which couple are the correct parents.

I live hundreds of miles away from Manchester so I am unable to visit any local record offices.

Look forward to having a reply soon

Thanks
