Can anyone help me find the marriage of Margaret ann Paxton to William English around 1880_85 in the Glendale area.I know they had a daughter named Bridgette Ann born 1889 in Kilham,i dont know of any brothers or sisters for Bridgette Ann.We were told that Bridgette Anns mother Margaret died giving birth to Bridgette but we dont know if this is fact.Thankyou in advance Anne. ::)

The Common Room / Re:Widows Penny
« on: Thursday 19 February 04 21:14 GMT (UK)  »
Chris,i have seen the widows penny,my Uncle Tony has it,it belonged to his uncle killed in world war one and when his wife died it was passed to him,i asked him if when he dies could i have it and he has agreed. It is heavy and it does measure about 5inches across and it is made of bronze. An old man who lives next door to my uncle told him to bury it in the garden for 3 months and it would regain its shine, but he said he liked it the way it was.It is something i would also like to have.Anne

Graveyards and Gravestones / Re:Memorial Stones & Symbols
« on: Thursday 19 February 04 21:03 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Chris,i did visit your site and its very interesting. It just goes to show you learn something new every day.I even wonderd if when i eventualy find my GGGGGrandfathers grave there might be the symbol of the stonemason on,as he was a stonemason in Dundee.I havent as yet found the graveyard he is buried in but when i find him i will visit the grave and see if his stonemason mark is on his stone.Thankyou again Chris,if i had ever found him and seen the symbol i would never have known what it ment without your explanation into gravestone markings.Thankyou again.Anne. :)
