I've had a bit of a niggle at the back of my mind about the London Plimlico reference as well but I was pretty confident that I had found Fredericks father ie Thomas. But I think I will need to go back through my research just to be sure.

Dionysia is such an unusual name especially for a girl in rural Sussex over 100 years ago!

Also please excuse my ignorance but what is the IGI? I've been using the Ancestry website up to now.

Thanks for your help

Hi,

Thanks for replying.

Marriage to Harriet Garman in 1831 Steyning would fit as in the 1851 census they were living in Steyning.

Dinah Holden marriage- I got the marriage certificate on the off chance that it was Dinisia but it wasn't,. Thanks for trying anyway

Sussex / Dinisia HOLDEN or NEWELL family Sussex
« on: Sunday 12 August 07 16:47 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

I am trying to find information on Dinisia Holden born 1891, She is recorded on the 1901 census and I have found her birth certificate where her name is spelt Dionysia. My mum was named after her (Dinisia). I have not been able to find a marriage certificate or a death cetificate for her. Can anyone help?

I am also trying to trace Dinisia's g grandfather. I have got as far as her grandfather Thomas Holden born about 1807 either in Henfield or Beeding. He was married to Harriet (maiden name unknown)

Dinisias older sister Grace is my great grandmother, She married Frederick Newell. Fredericks parents were Thomas and Edith Mary (Butler). Thomas father was also called Thomas born 1821 Lodsworth and I am looking for his father.

Thanks

Hi Legs,

I have found the marriage of Henry and Elizabeth - 1883. I forget to say that Elizabeth is down as Jane Elizabeth on my g grandmothers birth certificate - Sorry. In the 1901 census she is down as 39 years age and Henry 61, he is down as 67 on his death in 1908. I should get their marriage certifcate next week so that may clear up the age?

Cheers

Hello,

That was quick, wasn't expecting a reply so soon!

What I would really like to know is what happened to my g grandmothers siblings or her mum, I have not been able to find any marriage or death records for them. I do have the burial record for Henry, went to try find his grave at the cemetery today but no luck, Elizabeth his wife was much younger than him so it is possible that she married again.

Any help or advice would be great

Hello,

I don't know if you've found who you were looking for, but I have a Fanny Puttick in my family tree. She was the sister of Mary A E Puttrick who married my gg granfather Frederick Holden.

regards
