Hi Sue,
The men with my Nanna, Constance, her two younger sisters, and their mother, Agness were the sons of Agnes and her late husband, Harry Mowat Hamilton Miles, who had died in the Kimberley, South Africa in 1899.
Kind regards,
Julie.

Thank Palladium for your thoughtfulness.
I'm not doing consistent work these days on my trees now that 15 years have passed and have not found much re my 'loose ends'.
One day i might look my 'Garnet' up!
Kind regards,
Julie,

Thanks very much for your replies.
It's been a few years since i worked solidly on my parents' trees but i still do episodic housekeeping and its amazing to me just how thoughtful contributors are in this work - sometimes it's remarkable the efforts that some have gone to.  I am so pleased and grateful.
I've a hospital typed report on Harry Mowat Hamilton Miles' death in the Kimberley.  I too hold that it was only after he died there that his sons organised the emigration of Agnes and her 3 young daughters to Melbourne, where i think there were some family there ie her sons; though that is a somewhat confusing area to ascertain.  The eldest son i think worked with the Freemasonry Lodge to which i think Harry belonged in order to finesse the transportation for Agnes, my Grandmother and the two younger girls.
I know of the 1903 Melbourne census and i i have a good deal on them, although it's never enough in some cases!
Again, many thanks for your thoughtful work.
Kind regards,
Julie,
Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia.

Hello 'Ladyholme'.
Thanks for you very kind considerations.
Now being Aug 2020 i have not done FH/genealogy on my late parents' trees; largely just housekeeping of very lateral enteries or responding to Ancestry 'hints'.
I'm resigned now to not 'flogging a dead horse'!
I trust you are successful in your work.
Kind regards,
Julie.

Hello Sue ("sparrett").
The Trove marriage was indeed in my maternal line:  they being my late Mother's grandparents.
I did find that Nanna, Miss Constance Kate Miles and her young sisters were most likely with their mother, Mrs Agnes (nee Ferguson) Miles at that Jolimont address.
It's just that i haven't been able to find a shipping account for their journey from South Africa!
That would be just so lovely to have.
Kind regards to all respondents.
Julie.
