Thanks Rosie , I have an ancestry tree online , the info on his death from other trees is incorrect and not verified that i can see .  The hamstone name is popular in africa and that person was born/died in africa.  there is also info about a diamond thief being hung with same name , good details but a coincidence.
not really sure where our George went , just know he was saving money for travel after his mum died.

can anyone access passenger records coming into canada ? from australia or maybe from UK ? would love to know where he has gone ....

Max - ok, that makes more sense. it looks as if the sword was from the previous auction as well.  It is very exciting to see the medals after so long, to know where they are.  It we thought that they were lost & we would love for them to be returned to the family .
do you know where they have come from ??

thankyou for the link - i have since sent you a msg via your auction house as well.  how do i go about buying these - do they have to go to auction ?  on your web site it has sold 150pounds ? what was that for ? are they still for sale ....

Can i ask how did they come to you .. would love to fill in the gaps as to where they have been all this time ? if able .

yes you did get lucky ! I havent been researching for quite a while, didnt realise it has been 7 yrs :(  life got in the way i guess.   Hi Max and thankyou so much for getting in contact . certainly interested as lindsay was my grand father !  what do we need to do, Im in Perth, Australia  .. are you able to post a photo ? .....   and i thought the family had them hidden somewhere !!   thanks Natalie

thanks Sean - i clicked on the link you supplied  & then proceeded to wade through 271 pages & found John. It seems though only a very hard to read recount of what he got up to while in hobart , including being found drunk on christmas eve ! very funny
will keep a record of it
