Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Grandma's faded wedding dress
« on: Sunday 02 December 07 15:53 GMT (UK)  »
Can someone please restore Grandma and her wedding dress to their former glory?  Would love to see how she would have looked and it's the only pic I have of her on her wedding day 1907

Many thanks in advance,
Barbara

Technical Help / Completed thanks Gadget & Downside - Please help me see smileys :D
« on: Saturday 01 December 07 00:44 GMT (UK)  »
Please see this thread:

http://www.rootschat.com/links/02ah/

I can see most smileys but not those posted by roobarb and a couple of others.  I use IE and as Gadget suggested I've looked at my advanced internet options settings to confirm that the two boxes she mentions are checked.

Anyone got any ideas??

Looking for James Walden 1861 census, b. 1836 Swanton Morley  - he could be under Waldon

In 1841-1851 with mother Frances & stepfather James Jarvis in Swanton Morley
In 1871 - 1901 he's in Eston, Yorkshire, blacksmith and then ironstone miner, sometimes as b. Wymondham, sometimes as b. Sw.Morley. Age varies a bit, found him under Janes Waldon aged 30 in the 1871 census

I just need to find him in 1861, please can anyone see what I can't? His parents are still in Swanton Morley 1861 RG9/1241 fol.77 p.13

Thanks for looking,  Barbara  :)

Does anyone have access to parish registers for Lyng?

My 3xggrandmother Martha HOWES was born c1795 and married in Lyng 12 Feb 1816 to Joseph Wright - (from IGI but confirmed by parish record seen by a relative).  By 1841 she was surnamed SPINKS, widowed and living with daughter & family Sarah & John Whiterod - I have them in 1841 & 1851 census for Mattishall, Martha died 1858 Mattishall (death cert ordered).

I wonder if anyone could find out for me when she married Mr. Spinks, and if possible when she was born, to find her parents and get further back. Her birthplace was given as Lyng on 1851 census.

Thanks for looking,
Barbara  :)

Can anyone find Starling William Jarrett b. Mattishall 1870/1 - son of John William Jarrett and Sarah Ann Whiterod, not to be confused with his cousin Starling William Jarrett b. Swanton Morley 1870/1 who in 1901 is married to Eliza Beevers.

The Starling I'm looking for was an Assistant Baker living in Barford in 1891, I have all his census details up to 1891, but can't find him in 1901, or his death.

Thanks for looking,
Barbara

Found this cracked old thing, and wonder if it is too far gone to restore, can anyone help please?  Again, it's an old scanned copy of an original, so higher resolution not possible.  My Grandma is 2nd row from front, extreme right as you look at it.
Many thanks in advance,
Barbara

Can someone please help with my Aunty's photos, I want to give them to my cousin on his birthday, hope you won't mind the two pics - they're not scanned at very high resolution I don't think, as these are only copies of the originals.
Many thanks in advance,
Barbara
