thanks for help yet again, i'm so frustrated, really want to go forward with this but dont know how, i have no relatives to ask to even point me in the right direction. there must be some connection as when i phoned the ystrad office for a birth cert, the lady said that the name alexander was not common around the area....aaaarrrrrgg, came to wales about a month ago but didnt really find out to much, just more of a memory trip to crynant really.

thanks, dont really know how to go about finding people relating to places, all i've done so far is follow through the census' :-[, i'd love to find out if this thomas was a relative, but i think until i find some info on henry alexander (like when he moved to wales, with brothers or even an uncle)i'm hitting a brick wall, as i cant locate him before 1901 he's not on 1891 census in wales, so i'm guessing he came between these years, which led me to believe that he came alone???? i dont know, be nice if thomas alexander was a relative of his but i dont know how i can find this out. thanks for your help. ;D

thanks, i've tried the wells direction before but come up with nothing, the marriage cert says that henry alexanders father was a john alexander and at the time of marriage 1896 he was deceased, he was also a farm labourer. also henry address at time of his  marriage was ynisforch farm which i dont have much luck locating, (only located ynysfforch mawr) which is only thing close to name and what i presume to be location.  thanks for help again.

yes my grandmother was born in 1911 and my great grandmother was born in 1871 her brothers and sisters range from 1860 through to 1875. there was an illegitimate child born in 1887 (Rachel) she was one of the siblings child mother stated as Susan brown no father, i have found Susan on the census but cannot locate her birth cert. Rachel would of been my great grandmothers granddaughter, but possibly brough up as her daughter as on the 1901 census it states that she was her daughter. thanks

hi, does anybody have info on a gelli dochlithe farm in crynant, any small piece of info would be so great, my great grandmother (jennet/Janet brown) and all of her brothers and sisters were born there and i would love to know a bit of the history for it. my cousin and myself went to crynant about a couple of months ago and realized that our grandmothers house in pen-y-bont practically backed onto the farm fields yet we were told no history growing up, and would love to hear some. TA !!!!
