World War One / 14th Batt Sth Lancash? in 1917

How would i find any info on the 14th Batt South Lancash? (i assume to mean lancashires) in 1917.
Also interested in the Royal defence corps from same time.

I'm trying to find a marriage around 1920(big ish) Have checked freebmd, ancestry and cannot find a thing. Both were born around 1898 from the south east area.

Cumberland / Cricket/Crickerd Workington area ??

Trying to get any info on the Cricket/Crickerd family . They were in the Workington area around 1870+, but i think they were originally from Ireland.

I am having real trouble finding a birth record When i try his name and date of birth on ancestry (have also tried fbmd) there is no record of him. Also why does ancestry not give you the year you are looking for but all years previous?
I know i have asked on here before but what else can i try to find him?

Armed Forces / Replacement medals?????

My step-dad was in the army for many years and had many medals. Unfortunately an ex-family member sold them some time ago and my step-dad is quite upset still.
can we get replacements? who would we contact?. it would be lovely to be able to get them for him
