Hi
Does anyone have info on where i might find the Southall reg of electors in 1925.
For many, many months i have been trying to trace my g/grandfather and the only thing i have is his marriage cert .from 1925.
As i seem to have tried every other option to trace him i thought that if i could find out who else was in the house then it might help. I cant think of what to do after this.

Thanks

I suppose everyone hits a brick wall and this is mine.
My great grandfather  was Thomas william Morris born 1902ish.  He married Elsie Brooks in uxbridge in 1925 and gave his address as Clarence Street, Southall. It is thought that he fought and was wounded in ww1.
His father was also Thomas William Morris, died before 1925.
I have Thomas and Elsies marriage cert, but thats it.
Finding any more info on him would be wonderful for my father, so could anyone help or have any suggestions??
Thanks

World War One / canadian Overseas Exp force ?
« on: Sunday 30 March 08 10:06 BST (UK)  »
Just found the papers (on ancestry) for 2 of my great/g uncles.
It seems after serving with Royal Welsh Fusilliers, they joined the C.O.E.F though it doesnt state which battalion.
Francis William Rowlands born Towyn 1891(reg no: 5312) and Edward Rowlands born Towyn 1888(reg no:5457)
How do i found out which Battalion? and the papers state that they are signing up for 1 year., so what happened after that year?
Help appreciated

John i think died in the war but Jacob made it home.

World War One / What age did they join up??
« on: Friday 21 March 08 13:02 GMT (UK)  »
Last night i found (on Ancestry) my great-granmothers cousins ww1 papers he was in the 7th Royal welsh Fusiliers. He was recalled in 1916 and eventually discharged (dispepsia & 'slight'bullet wound). He served at Suvla bay.
He was Jacob Rowlands from Towyn, Merion born 1894.
When he was recalled in 1916 he was 22 but stated that he had already served 6+ yrs  before.
My query is how old did they have to be to join up? and is ther any info on the 7th rwf anywhere ie pics?

many thanks
