You are right. Thanks.
Found the grave in the Grave Register now.
I appreciate you help.
John

I think 'o G' might perhaps refer to the 'Old' Graveyard, which is on the south side of the road.

You can see some references to burials in section '.. o G' on this page
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CS6T-NDRD?i=398&cat=996903

So my reading of it is that she was buried in section G of the Old Graveyard.

I wonder if some kind soul could help me locate a grave at Benfieldside (Blackhill) Cemetery, so that I can get a photograph of the headstone, and/or more details of those buried there..

I found the burial register on FamilySearch.org, which says the burial was in Place: "G o G", Grave: 55, in Consecrated ground. I think it says G. o. G., but have now idea what this means, or where it might be.

The burial in question is that of Hannah ROWE, of Bar House, Consett, aged 69, on 23 Apr 1946 .

Place: G o G, Grave: 55, Consecrated ground
Burial register: age 98, Burial 23275

I couldn't find this in the Grave Register. I had been hoping to see who else might be buried in that grave.

Thanks for any help you might be able to provide.

Regards

John

Cheshire Lookup Requests / Re: Look up for Rake Lane Cemetery Wallasey

Hi jwynne

Got to the website below and find the name Fox in the index, there are a number of people named Fox.  Once you've got the details from the index you can search the inscriptions.  I haven't tried it myself yet so let me know if you find what you are looking for  :)

Thanks, but there's no first names or dates, and 9 possible FOX graves. I'll have to try elsewhere.

Got it! Worked it out, once I'd read the instructions.

I wonder if any kind soul might be able to help me to find a grave in Rake Lane Cemetery.
William Herbert FOX was buried there on 23 Feb 1981, the husband of Isabella FOX, aged about 83 years old.
I would be very grateful for any information that you could let me have (grave reference, location, owner, occupants, etc.), that would help me get a photograph of the headstone (if there is one).
Thanks,
John

Another mention of Gibbet Gate - a colliery near Priestfield.

I think it's 'Gibbet Gate'.
Even in this little clip you can see the writer doesn't 'cross his 't's'.
Evidently on the Wolverhampton Road.

There is a previous post on Rootschat here:

Perhaps they're interested in the same people jwynne?

Excellent! I'm sure thats it.
Thanks for all your help everyone.

If I've got the right person, then 1891 he is said to be born in Priestfield, with mother, Rebecca, and siblings  :-\

Yes. Priestfield, with mother, Rebecca. But where's "Gebbel Gale"? I've looked around Ppriestfield on the OS maps.

Can any kind soul recognise a birthplace in Staffordshire in the 1901 census that looks like "Gebbel Gale" (please see the attached image).

I don't know the area, and can't find it in Google or an a map.
Thanks,
John
