Suffolk / Henry Keen(e) bapt. about 1738 Wetheringsett and parents
« on: Tuesday 25 May 21 01:11 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,
I'm looking for info regarding a Henry Keen(e) who was born about 1738 in Wetheringsett, Suffolk. I know he married Sarah Emerson in 1760.

Hopefully the records are available for this period and before,  that may tell me who his parents were.

In my searches I have come up with a possible marriage for a James Keen - to a Ann Rainbird in 1730  in Rishangles.  (also a James Keen;  to Mary Seamen in 1764 in Wetheringsett which may be a 2nd marriage although I haven't found any burials for Ann yet)

Is anyone able to assist please?
Thanks in advance for reading this request.

Berkshire / Marriage l/up for Jacob Frude to Ellen 1860s Berks/Hants
« on: Friday 07 May 21 10:52 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,

I would appreciate some help, please,  in locating a marriage of a Jacob Frude (+ variants)  to Ellen (Church??)about 1860-1863 either Berks or Hampshire.

From  Anc....y   I have an entry of (Jun ¼) 1863 in Newbury Dist. but in the 1861 census for Beedon they are together with a family of 4 children suggesting they started earlier but possibly didn't marry till later.

Ellen Church?? was born about 1832/7 in Chieveley but I cannot find her bapt. only a possible sister Emily Jane.

These are only twigs on my tree but would like to add some dates and locations if possible.

I have checked with F/Search & FreeBMD without success.

Thanks in advance for any help.

« on: Monday 25 January 21 03:50 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all,

I have found a baptism for Daniel Belcher 25-7-1825 in Appleton, Berks (Illeg. s/o Esther Belcher).

There is no sign of Esther being bapt., married or bur. in this parish also;
Daniel was privately bapt. "by reason of removal". This latter comment taken from Berks FHS CD

Can anyone  please find Esther's bapt. and presumably
the removal was  she came from another parish?

any help would be appreciated/

Oxfordshire Lookup Requests / annie mirriam Belcher - bapt. 1859ish West Hanney
« on: Friday 22 January 21 00:29 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all,

I have a problem - I'm looking for a birth/baptism for the above in about 1859 in West Hanney, Berks.
I have found this lady marrying a Frederick De Jersey in Brisbane, Australia in 1881 and lists her father as Daniel Belcher, clerk & Lizzie Greenaway and born West Hanney. Daniel & Elizabeth married 1846 W.Hanney.
I have the parents and several other children all in West Hanney but no Annie Mirriam only a Mary Ann born 1857.
Would anyone have the Hanney records they could do a look up for me, please?

I'm wondering if Mary Ann became Annie Mirriam.

A look for a  birth registration in the GRO index does not reveal any entry only Mary Ann 1857 in the Wantage dist.

The other anomily is that she says her father Daniel was a clerk whereas all the censusus say Agr.Labourer.

Can anyone help with this query please.

Berkshire Lookup Requests / Charles Belcher - m Jane ?? 1820ish Berks
« on: Saturday 16 January 21 08:18 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all,

Can anyone please help me in finding a marriage of Charles Belcher to Jane ?? in Berks about 1820s?

I have them in the 1841 census living in West Hanney Village with 2 x sons (Daniel & William)

I would also like to find Daniel's bapt. abt 1821 in West Hanney. He is listed as of W.Hanney in all censues. (I suspect the info may be contained in the West Hanney transcripts which have been released by the Oxon FHS which do not appear on my CD as its an old issue).

Thanks in advance for any help.

Oxfordshire / James Buckingham - m - Ann Monk 1793 Witney
« on: Monday 19 October 20 13:44 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,

I am looking for the marriage of James Buckinghgam  to Ann Monk about 1793 in Witney St.Mary.

I have found that the Banns were called on 3rd,10th & 17th of Nov 1793 but nowhere can I find when/where the marriage took place.

Nothing shows on FreeReg, FamilySearch or Anc..y but a tree states it was on 23-11-1793 in St.Marys, Witney.

Strangely the marriage register for Witney doesn't
show on Anc..y so I can't confirm it.

Cambridgeshire / Matthew Feakes - m - Martha Belcher 1839 Swaffham Prior (IGI)
« on: Thursday 08 October 20 23:53 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,
I wonder if SKS could help me with the above marriage in april 1839.

In the censuses I have seen, Martha was from West Hanney, Berks and born/bapt about 1810.

I am hoping, if the records are available, someone could let me know her father's name, if shown. The "Belcher" name is very common in Berks and I'm trying to tie her to my Belcher relatives in my tree. Only a leaf on my tree but filling in some details.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Durham Lookup Requests / David King - m - Margaret A Hunter 1873 Easington Dist 1873
« on: Saturday 03 October 20 05:04 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I'm trying to identify the David King who married in Easington Dist. 1873 to a  Margaret Hunter.

I have a David Ephriam King  as a leaf on my tree who is the s/o  Nathan King from Suffolk.

David Ephriam King was bapt. about 1850 in Rushmere Suffolk and in 1871 was an able seaman
on board the Triumph of Ipswich vessel in Pembrokeshire, Wales.

David King then turns up in 1881 as a coal miner  in Newbottle, Durham born in Ipswich with wife Margaret & fam.
Is anyone able to confirm that David King is the s/o Nathan?

Any help most appreciated.

Berkshire / Catherine Spicer - bapt. 1710c Berks - (mar. Richard Belcher 1734 Stanford)
« on: Friday 18 September 20 06:08 BST (UK)  »
Hi folks,
I'm looking for a bapt. of Catherine Spicer about 1710.  She married Richard Belcher 1734 in Stanford, Berks.
Many trees on Anc..y show her bapt. as 31-12-1710 in Stanford (Goosey) but I have the transcript CD from OxfordFHS and nowhere can I see her entry. She is being shown as the d/o Laurence Spicer & Elizabeth and there are many entries in Stanford for the "Spicer's".

However, the BerksFHS latest bapt. CD does not include Stanford-in-the-Vale until about the 1800s and FreeReg does show her either, nor F/S

Can anyone please help?

Alan
