Hi
Many thanks to you both for your help
William married in 1878 in Devonport to Elizabeth Ann Pearce of Lostwithiel, so that much I know. I did a search on the IGI for WIlliam and came up with a chap b. 1852 son of Richard & Eleanor. Now usually you can see which is likeliest as the children tended to be named after the father, grandfather etc, but there are no clues at all amongst William's children which is a little frustrating. His second son was William, named for himself I would think, which would indicate that the eldest son, Henry, would be named for WIlliam's father - but no Henry's about
Are there other Shropshire resources I could try in order to find out - or can |I push my luck and see if anyone can find a Henry for me
Its not a place I've ever had to research - being Cornish, and bearing in mind where Cornwall is, my ancestors tended to marry other Cornish people as there wasn't much choice! Researching anything the other side of the Tamar is a bit alien to me, (though there is some Cheshire and Isle of Wight ancestry I have) So if anyone can help me further I'd be even more grateful than I am already to Tati & MaryA
kind regards
Damien
