Lancashire Lookup Requests / Burials Aspull, Standish, Wigan please

Is there anyone who could look for the burial of

Mary (Polly) CROSTON who died mid-1949 with the death registered in Ince. I'm pretty sure she would have been living in Aspull.

What I am looking for is a death for her husband George b.1874 and I thought they might be together. I haven't been able to find a record online for his death.

I'm told the most likely places she would have been buried were:
St.David's or St.Elizabeth of Hungary, Aspull, St. John the Baptist, New Springs, Wigan, or even St.Wilfrid's, Standish.

I have looked through the indexes on WiganWorld but she isn't on any of those.

Lancashire / Polly (Mary) Croston - where is she buried?

Hello everyone

The above lady's death was recorded as:

Deaths Jun 1949
Croston Polly 71 Ince 10c 439

I would like to find out where she would have been buried at that time and if someone could help me that would be great.

Also I would like to find her husband, George b.1874. He must have died after 1912 as that is the date of their last child, and I have him on the 1901 census, age 27 living in Aspull.

I found the death of a Cpl.George Croston 7 July 1917 at Ypres but no age was given for him. He was in the Lancashire Fusiliers but no other information.

Australia / How do I get started, please?

$:-\$ Hi all,
I have been asked for help by a distant cousin in England, to locate one of his ancestors who came to Australia sometime in the 1950's. I just have no idea of how to get started because all I have are the names. No date of departure and no destination, other than Australia.
Certainly a bit vague but I would like to be able to at least find something for him.
The names are Joseph and Kathleen (Burrows) POTTER. Kathleen was married in 1954 to Joseph. She was born 1931 in Warrington, Lancashire. Her parents were Catherine and Joseph BURROWS. I don't know anything more about Joseph POTTER at the minute.
If someone could point me in the right direction for starters I would really appreciate it.

Oxfordshire / DELL family St.Ebbe's, Oxford Birth dates pls

This family is really ticking me off

I have several of them in censuses 1841 to 1881 but their ages seem to vary considerably. There are no births on IGI for them and they are too early for FreeBMD so I need some help if anyone is able to give it please.

The family in 1841 are:
Henry DELL bap.12 May 1800 St.Peter le Bailey
Ann (ARMSTRONG) bap.26 Feb 1801 Petworth, Sussex
Henry bap.Nov 1821 (no problem with his age it stays constant except at his death in Cowley Workhouse Q1 1891 age 72)
Frederick b.ca.1825 (in Parkhurst 6 y 9 mth sometime between 1825 and 1849. Then sentenced in 1849 to 10 years transportation. So not to be found on any other censuses in UK)
Jane b.ca 1827
Charles b.ca 1829
John b.ca 1832
Thomas b.ca 1835 (dies Q2 1851so also on 1851 census)
James b.Q3 1838 (dies Q4 1863 so on 1851 and 1861)
Mary Ann b.ca 1840 (dies Q1 1882 in Cowley Workhouse age given as 38)

All appear to have been born in the St.Ebbe's area. Ages estimated from 1841 census.

There is a marriage of John DELL to Alice SHORTHOUSE in Birmingham Q4 1878 and in 1881 they are living at 16 Paradise Street, St.Thomas Oxford. Where I expected him to be 49 he gives his age as 40.

Charles appears to have married Ann FOXEN in Berkhamstead in Q3 1864. In 1881 he should be (according to the age in 1841 and 1851) 52 but he gives it as 47.

Anything that anyone can rake up about this family would be so much appreciated.

I have this man who is supposed to have married Agnes WOOD on 22nd May 1610 at Birstall but I just don't believe his given name.

Would anyone please be able to check original records to see if there has been some kind or error in transcription?

As far as I am concerned, his name should have been Thomas.

Berkshire Lookup Requests / KINTBURY PR please for CASBOURN

I have the BVRIv.2 CDs and have come across what I think are errors. I tried checking on IGI (as both are LDS products) but can't find any reference to my area of the CASBOURN family.

Is there anyone who has access to the Parish Registers for Kintbury, please? The main error is in the following

CASBOURN Henry Christening 16 Nov 1814 Film:1279462

Parents are shown as John CASBOURN and Jane. I think this should be Jacob CASBOURN and Jane.

The other one is:

Jonathan CASBOURN Christening 31 March 1813 Same film as above

Parents are shown as Jacob CASBOURN and Ann. I think this should also be Jacob and Jane.

Oxfordshire Lookup Requests / Edith HOWKINS (PERRY) 1886

Trying to find the death of this lady. Thought to be in the 1950's in Oxfordshire. She was born Dec quarter 1886, married William Henry HOWKINS 8 Aug 1911 at SS Mary and James, Cowley, Oxford. William died 1945 in Oxford.

I have checked variants of her surname 1914 to 1955. The only thing I have come up with which is close is:

Death Mar quarter 1953
HUGGINS Edith Age 87 Oxford 6b 1231

Looking at the original from which the FreeBMD transcription was done I see that it was typed so no room for error from that to the site.

Does anyone have access, please, to original Parish Records to check if the name HUGGINS as written should be HOWKINS?
