Hi thank you all for replying, I've looked at Ancestry, no luck there, but thanks for thinking of it. I'll see if I can contact the Regimental Museum, as you say they may help. Any other ideas much appreciated.

Can anybody help or offer advice please.
My grandfather was a member of the 7th Battalion Loyal North Lancashire Regiment (Preston Pals) during WW1, he was wounded and was convalescing at Summerdown Camp, Eastbourne. He met my grandmother whilst he was there, she was a maid at a girls school nearby, they were married in December 1917. The marriage certificate states that he was a soldier serving in France.

Does anybody know if there would be records of casualties anywhere or records for those at Summerdown.

Any ideas as to where/when he might have been wounded.

Medal card details of Joseph Pownall, 1914-1920

Loyal North Lancashire Regiment 12835 Private

North Staffordshire Regiment 57160 Lance Corporal

Any help much appreciated

Can anybody help or give me advice please

Frederick Dunford b. 1886 served in WW1 believe in the Dorset Regiment, wounded and a metal plate inserted in his head apparently, is there any way I can check this. I note that there is a Frederck Dunford, Dorset Regiment No 201962 who gained the SWB, is there any way I can check if this is my man. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Thanks Raylen

Have taken note of them, not sure about them, I'll wait and see if any other information is forthcoming to collaborate with it.

Thanks for that Raylen, at least I now know that they did get there.
All I have to do now is find out where they all went to over there.

Australia Lookups completed / Larkin, Milgate arrivals 1838

Hi can anybody help with the following request or guide me to the right place to look.
Would love to know what happened to the following families after they landed.

A) Henry Larkin and his wife Harriet arrived Sydney on the Palmyra 26th Sept 1838.

B) James Larkin and his wife Sarah and children
C) James sister Eleanor Milgate and her husband William plus children,
both these families arrived Sydney on the Lady Nugent 27th Nov 1838

They all came from Beckley, Sussex, England

Also believe that Mary Larkin and her husband William Sevenoaks emigrated to NSW abt 1839/40 time but can find nothing at all about them.

Any information or advice on any of the above would be much appreciated

Many thanks
