Can anybody please help, looking up a friend's great grandfather for him.

His name was John Duncan Fraser, I know that in 1918 he was living in Southbrook Road, Lewisham but not in 1922, I feel that he could be the John D Fraser who died in the Jun Q 1920 Lewisham.

He apparently spent time in India working on the building of Karachi harbour so I figure there may be an interesting obiturary in the local paper. But which paper would that be and is there anywhere online where I could view, or can anybody help, much appreciated.

Can anybody help or point me in the right direction.

I have an English family on the 1880 US census, Alfred Seaton, wife Hannah, children Mary, Robert, Julia and Flora all living in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts.

I have the family apart from Alfred back in England by the time of the 1881 census.

Family stories say that Hannah and the children came back first, Alfred stayed on to wrap up business affairs.
He apparently disappeared on his way to the ship that was to bring him back to England.

It was presumed he was attacked and killed for the money he would have had on him, this is what has been passed down.

Or did Alfred just start a new life!

Any ideas how I can check this out would be much appreciated or any information related to it.

Hi is anybody in a position to be able to look up some baptisms and burials for me or can advise where I might be able to find said information on line.

Looking for the family of Thomas Pownall and Louisa Perkins, they married in 1886 in St Mark's Church, Preston.
In 1891 they were living at 42 Morgan St, Preston
In 1893 when my grandfather Joseph was born they were at 17 Brunswick St, Preston.
In 1901 they were at 25 Ladyman St, St John, Preston.
Known children are Martha b.1887; Harry b.1889 d.1893; Emma b.1890 d. 1892; John b.1892; Joseph b. 1893; William Henry b. 1895; Thomas b.1897; Victoria Ivy May b. 1899 and Louisa b. 1900.
There may be other births and infant deaths that don't cross the census time either prior to 1901 or after but only up to 1911.
Between May 20th and June 10th 1911 my grandfather lost his mother (Typhoid) and sisters Martha (Typhoid)  and Louisa (TB).
Thomas Pownall died 8th Nov 1915 ( my granddad was in the trenches at that time)

Wonder if anyone out there can help, an uncle of mine says his grandfather worked at Pangdean Farm, Nr Brighton during WW1, says it was used by the army to check horses, mules either before going to the front or on their return, Shoreham port is nearby.

My uncle and I wonder if there is any truth in the story.
Any ideas
