Yes Samuel had a son born 1828 named William Joseph Root.

This is the info i have on William so far :

He married Ann Goodwin (formerly Speechley) in 1860 Shoreditch and had a daughter Charlotte born 1861.

From 1871 - 1901 i have William living in Deptford. I think this is the same William ?

Hello B.Root9

Samuel Root born and baptised in 1797 in Dagenham is my Great Great Great Grandfather. I am decended from his daughter Caroline born 1834.

Which child of Samuel's are you decended from ? I have a copy of the birth certificate of Samuel's son Samuel Root born 1845.

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Re: Help reading witness name

I think the parents of Mary Richardson (born 1821, Canterbury) were the couple who married in St Paul, Canterbury in 1796 named John Richardson & Mary Pain. One of the witnesses to this marriage was William Cheavers who made his mark.

Could the witness be Cheavers/Cheaver/Cheever/Cheevers ?

If it is Cheavers then the above John Richardson & Mary Pain must be Mary Richardson's parents.

Hello Casalguidi

I did find this marriage last year while on a visit to the Canterbury Archives.

Thank you for searching this record for me.

Thanks for that info Ben.

Hello Dawn

Thanks for those excellent links.  :)

It is a shame that the microfilms from the Westminster Archives will not be included in the digitisation project.  I believe i may have some ancestors from that neck of the woods also. :(

Hello all

Does anyone know if any of the Westminster parishes are included in the digitisation project ?

I see from the following link that Westminster is included in the London Parish interactive map on Ancestry.co.uk.

Hello again

Update :

I recently visited the National Archives at Kew and was able to look at Charles Prince medal roll.

He was in the 3rd Battallion Rifle Brigade.

Now i can start researching what battles etc he was involved in.   :)
