Hello all

I've had one of those days. Thought I would take advantage of the free ancestry.com offer and try to get somewhere,   ??? but have still resorted to asking rootschatters for help.

This time it's George and Emma Wheable.

George was born in 1844 on Old Alresford, Hampshire

He married Emma in 1866, she was born 1846 in Chelsea.

Their 'first' child born after the 1871 census was Stephen in 1872 in Chelsea.

I've tried all sorts of variations (Weable, Weeble even Wheatle)

I would be really grateful if another pair of eyes could check somewhere other than ancestry to see if they're hiding under another spelling variation.

Have spent all afternoon  ??? using free ancestry access to try and find

Joseph Chandler - baptised 1802, from 1851 census aged 44, born 1807 Arborfield
Charlotte Chandler - from 1851 census aged 40 born 1811 also Arborfield
Sarah from 1851 census aged 21, born 1830 Middx West?
George from 1851 census aged 17 born 1834 Kensington
Richard from 1851 census aged 15 born 1836 Kensington

Thought it would be easy finding the children first but still no luck.

There may be other children who do not survive to the 1851 census as their next child is born 1845 on 1851 census.

Have also looked under Chandle, Candler and Chandlee but still cant find them.

Would be really grateful if another pair of eyes could check somewhere other than ancestry to see if they're hiding under another spelling variation.

I would be grateful if someone could verify the marriage of

James Longhurst to Henrietta Muggeridge 18th October 1831 at Dorking

This has been submitted to the IGI, not a transcription, and the Dorking Marriage register has not been included in the West Surrey FHS PR microfiche series.

Thanks in advance

Does anyone know if it is possible to purchase transcripts of the parish registers?

If so where from?

Thanks in advance

Surrey Completed Look up Requests / Austine Longhurst - AMENDED
« on: Sunday 15 October 06 22:43 BST (UK)  »
Hello All

I am trying to find a baptism, marriage or burial for Austine Longhurst.

The only information I have about him is that a son Edward was baptised in Abinger 9 June 1661 and then buried 20 Dec 1661.

I have checked the IGI  ::) , and pr's for Abinger, Ewhurst, Ockley, Oakwood and Wotton. So far, I can't find him.

Any sightings elsewhere would be appreciated.

I've looked at the PR's for Shere and found these 3 baptisms
5 August 1621 Austin Longhurst s Edward
17 March 1649 John Longest s Augustine
2 January 1652 Mary Longest  d August

Could his marriage be somewhere as August(ine) Longest, Longhust, Longhurst or even Songhurst and its variants?

Hello all

I would be grateful if someone could tell me whether the burial records for this cemetery are available to be searched either through a local authority, church or direct with them.

Any contact details would be appreciated.

Thanks

Kent Completed Lookup Requests / Baptism look-up please, Canterbury parishes
« on: Tuesday 03 October 06 21:40 BST (UK)  »
James Kemp born c 1833 and Julia Hubbard/Hubberd born c 1834 married in 1860. Their census returns for 1861/71/81 and 91 state they were both born in Canterbury.

Their baptisms aren't on the IGI, so can they be found somewhere?

Sorry I can't be more specific than Canterbury and I haven't ordered their marriage cert yet to confirm their fathers names :(

Kent Completed Lookup Requests / 1871 census Kemp family in Kent - COMPLETED thanks
« on: Monday 02 October 06 19:04 BST (UK)  »
I am helping a neighbour with his tree and so far today we have got back to the 1881 census. We have found James aged 48 and Julia 47 both born Canterbury, Emma 16, Annie 14, Harriett 11 and Clara 8 all born Chatham. They are at 52 Wincheap Street, Thanington and Wilton in Bridge, Kent.

As they married in 1860 I am hoping that they can be found in 1871 with possibly some more children.

I would be really grateful if someone could look them up please.

Thanks in advance

Surrey Completed Look up Requests / Lyllie marriages in Abinger
« on: Thursday 28 September 06 21:39 BST (UK)  »
I must order the Abinger microfiche of the PR's but in the meantime I have a query for the following.

I have one baptism for a John Lyllie 8 Sept 1541 in Ockley (parents Richard & Margaret Lyllie nee Longhurst married 26 Sept 1540 in Ockley). There are no others on the IGI but there may be other John Lyllies born around this time  in different parishes that I don't know about yet.

Moving forward, I have a John Lyllie marrying a Fillice Hill on 2 Oct 1570 in Abinger and another marriage John Lyllie to Elizabeth Stamford 28 October 1571 also in Abinger. So is this the same John Lyllie and did his first wife Fillice die leaving him to marry again. Can a burial index be checked for me?

And just to add to the puzzle, there is an Abinger baptism for a Margarett Lyllie 10 Sept 1570, father John Lyllie. Does she fit in here somewhere (John & Fillice's daughter born out of wedlock?) or , going back to my 2nd paragraph, are there 2 John Lyllies in close proximity to each other.

Hope someone can help.

Thanks in advance
