Ireland / Re: KELLY Family from Ireland to Scotland

Hello,
Just browsing through and saw your query.
I don't know if you are aware of the following web site which shows marriages in the Parish of Clonmany in the latter half of the 19th century. I think the dates just miss your Kelly/McLaughlin marriage but you may find it of interest. There are a lot of Kellys and McLaughlins - even a Cicely McLaughlin- a different spelling. So your theory about Inishowen might be right.
My maternal grandparents came from Clonmany Parish.

Good Luck

Hi,

As a Bradley in Scotland with roots in Derry, I have suspected that the name Broadley may have arisen due to the dialect in Scotland at the time. My own family had Broadley & Bradley.

I have been searching for some time to try and locate the home town/parish in Co.Derry of my g,g,grandfather Francis Bradley married to Ann O'Neill.
His son John,my g,grandfather was born in 1851 and emigrated to Coatbridge in Scotland where he became a miner.
Any info/suggestions greatly appreciated. I have tried all the various gen. sites.
