Thanks ScouseBoy, I googled it and looks like if it was for an adjustment then they would have been returned to his wife. Cheers Evelina

World War One / Medal Rolls Index Card
« on: Thursday 08 October 15 12:20 BST (UK)  »
My grand uncle died in WW1 and I see a note on his Medal Index Card and award rolls which says:-

BM & VM / Retd (992KR1923) 8426/Adt.

Can you tell me does this mean his medals were returned?  If so can they be claimed now?

Thanks

Yes thanks Annie, I know about the records starting in 1855 and the OPR's.  I am sure I will find what I am looking for eventually, it will be a surname difference or a unexpected place or something, will not give up till I get it.  I usually do even if its years later.  Happy New Year to you  :D

Hi Ken, Thanks for your info, its led to a break through for me.  I take it you are related to the Doig family, your name gave me a clue lol. But are you connected to Helen Robertson nee Young? Helen was previous married to William Donaldson who then died and she went on to marry William Robertson.  pls pm me if you would like more details. Thanks again Evelyn
