The Lighter Side / A Challenge for anyone with nothing better to do just now.
« on: Friday 31 May 13 01:13 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I came across this on my local news channel, since we don't get a lot of chatters from the US I thought this might get a few people out of their comfort zone.

Well I hope you all have a wonderful time. I won't make it this time. Trip from Cairns to Sydney for lunch is just a bit too much and I won't be going to Brisbane just yet.
So lots of photos, videos etc for the "no starters".  :D

Technical Help / Re: Has my computer died?
« on: Saturday 23 March 13 09:16 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Hampshire Lass,
I'm no expert, but have had a bit of experience getting my own computers going.
Firstly, turn EVERYTHING off. unplug everything, then plug in only what's needed. That is, not printer, scanner. etc.
Turn on from wall, then computer main switch (if it has one) then switch on front of computer. This will also activate screen.
If all you get is the same message, turn OFF the front switch, then get fingers ready on [control] and [alt].switch on while holding down keys, and bounce another finger on F8. You may need to do this a few times.
If you get no joy then it's a job for someone with more tech knowledge than me.
Or the old NASA version is unplug averything, wait 10 minutes, plug it all up again and turn on. Works most times.
Good luck, Leonie.
