Is Llanhilleth one of your areas?

If so, could you look for one "George Wilson" death probably around 1900 - 1918

Thanks for looking.

Monmouthshire / Llanhilleth burial?
« on: Sunday 14 September 08 19:40 BST (UK)  »
My paternal grandmother's father I think was buried in Llanhilleth, but besides his name of George Wilson I have little other information.  Can anyone help find him and more about his daughter (my grandmother).

The dates:

Daughter married in 1918 and by that time he was dead.  She was born 1898, but I don't know where.

Does anyone know where to start please.
Thanks for any help you can give or suggest.

I hadn't thought of them as that dire, but looking at the facts then I think you would be right.

Just looked, and it's a case of which one??  I hadn't realised that there would be so many of them.  Never gave it a thought - they must have made most things by hand in those days as not many industrial machines would turn out small items such as nails.

Thanks for the idea though.  Open to any more if anyone has any.

Yes, I have looked at all the census's from 1841 through to 1861 but they all say "Ireland" and nothing more.  I think I have found a death for James though in 1859.  Might it say anything useful on the death cert that would give me a link?

Cork / Casey information please
« on: Saturday 19 July 08 16:03 BST (UK)  »
I have a rellie that we believe started life in the Cork area (only on hearsay).

Details I have: Name: James Casey with a wife called Catherine
The UK England census says that they came from "Ireland" with their eldest son John who was born in 1835.  Must have gone to England approx 1835/6

Can anyone give me an idea where to start to find out where they came from please.

I have limited knowledge of sites, so please make it clear to me what site you are refering to.

Thanks for your help.
