« on: Wednesday 09 September 09 11:59 BST (UK)  »
Hi trying to find this gentleman's family from the 1901 Census: -
Robert Thomas Cross Butcher 42 born 1858 Sheffield.
Catherine E Wife, 45 born Derby/Sheffield 1855.
Catherine Margaret, 18 School teacher, born Kingston Yorks 1883.
Robert, 16 App Butcher, born Sheffield 1884/5.
Mary Victoria, 13, born Sheffield/Ecclesall Bierlow 1888.
Helen (Ellen) Louise, 10, born Sheffield/Ecclesall Bierlow 1890.
Jane Frances, 6, born Sheffield/Ecclesall Bierlow 1894.
Constance Emily, 3, born Sheffield/Ecclesall Bierlow 1898.
Have tried to trace them in the 1911 (online census) but have missed both Mary and Helen!!
Would like to know if any of family married.
Also missing their cousins the Clark's.
William born Sheffield 1872, Gertrude b1875 and Henry Herbert b1876.
Can trace them to the 1901 census, but not there after, think all married, and may have lived in Ecclesall Bierlow, close to there mother Elizabeth, she died in 1925-85.
Can anyone help please?

Hertfordshire / Re: Marriage lookup for Phyllis Mary Taylor
« on: Sunday 16 August 09 19:57 BST (UK)  »
Hi, have come up with some interesting pieces to this post: -
Phyllis married a Philip Rust in 1910, they had one child a Richard John Slack Rust b1914.
Richard was an officer in the Royal Fusiliers, when he was seconded into the RAF (my lot).
And became a War Hero.
Had met and married Miriam Jean Stewart in the month of May 1940, they had one child, Michael J. before Richard was killed in 1942.
Richard was awarded the DFC for his efforts.
Miriam remarried (now Burk), and sailed to New York with her son Michael in 1946, on the Queen Mary.
So now wondering where Michael John Rust b 1941 is???

Hi thanks for the help, think it was Philip Rust, as he turns up born at Newmarket, where her mothers family are living.
Any one know of a Richard J. S Rust? born 1914, + 25 = 1939? :'(

Florence M Death 1910   Bishops Stortford
Mabel Death 1910   Bishops Stortford
George C Dennis 1910   Bishops Stortford
Philip J Rust 1910   Bishops Stortford
Phyllis M Taylor 1910   Bishops Stortford
Is what I found, but looking up either Rust or Dennis on the 1911 census turns up nothing  :-[
Think It may need a visit to the Records office?
Looking up Dennis and Rust on the Freebdm gives me both lol, that is something?
Thou there is a Rust in B-Stortford.

They lived in Windhill House, B-S.

Suffolk / FYSONS of Exning and Soham Cambs
« on: Wednesday 29 July 09 14:40 BST (UK)  »
Hi looking for any help details, re this Fyson family out of Exning, Newmarket, and Soham, just across the county boundaries.

Also have a Walter Fyson marring a Elizabeth Clayton around 1676, at Wood Ditton, they produced 2 children.

Exning seems to have been the centre of the Fyson family for a number of years, producing business men, doctors and the alike.

Have solid hits from the census 1841 to 1911, but need to fill the early years.

Can anyone help check the early Wood Ditton/Burwell Regs, have found an entry on the IGI which give Walter's marriage to Elizabeth in July 1676, and they produced 2 boys Walter and a Joseph 1677 and 1679 respectively.
But wonder if they had more?
Do have a list from the Wood Ditton Parish Regs, starting from Walter in 1677 to Henry in 1689, all in Wood Ditton.

Of the Exing lookups I am seeking a Robert Fyson b1736, who married a Sarah?? about 1761, and the had at least 3 children at Exning.

Cheers Tim.

Olga according to Ancestry was born in Swansea, but I am unable to find any record of this event as to her eventual marriage?
Did find out she used to live at 364 Mumbles Road, Swansea, so does anyone recall her, and was there an children?
Know she passed away in 1992, a grand old lady.
Thanks for looking Tim.

His records are at the Army Heritage, but getting them is very tough, as only his cousin, and him not leaving a family, makes things much harder.
Have been sent a form called certificate of Kinship, just how do I fill that out lol, its crazy, Mothers brothers, fathers, uncles second cousin. Just plain crazy.
Have sent them a family tree, but they live and breath forms, so wont be able to understand that lol. That wasn't all they first sent me another form - an SAR. dont they just love forms?? lol.
