Hi

Does anyone know what Bonjour service is. I have googled and think it may be something to do with itunes but not too sure.

Has anyone else heard of it and what it is - should I be worried?

Hi All

The attached photo is of my granddad and Great Aunt. I think it may have been taken in Brighton. (Grandad was born 1895 and died 1969 and Auntie Annie was born 1903 and died 1976 and lived most of her adult life in Brighton).
It looks like they are in front of a cinema showing Elvis Presley in California Holiday (I can make out nia ay behind granddad).
Is anyone able to narrow a date down for me as I would like to send a copy to Annie's grandson who I have recently been in contact with.
All suggestions greatly received.

Hi All

Browsing through my FT mag recently I noticed a small item stating there is an upgrade patch available for FTM2008. I am still on 2005 so it's no use to me but as there have been comments about it here is the link

It is supposed to fix speed and stability issues and puts back some of the charts they removed

Technical Help / Would wireless be quicker that wired?

Hi All

Just want a bit of advise from you techie lot, please.

I currently use Virgin Media for my ISP on their Plan 2 (Up to 8mb) package with an ADSL modem. I have a BT line and they say my line will support up to 1mb??? and I am about 4km straight line distance from the exchange (where I live the cables are all under ground so goodness knows how long it really is).

These are the last three speed test results from www.dslzoneuk.net

Would I get a faster service if I changed to a wireless modem? If so, what would be the one to go for and what else would I need to do (currently have WinXP) if not, how can I get a faster service.

I don't really want to change ISP as I am happy with VM as my provider, I just wish it was all a bit faster.

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / A little help required

I'm hoping someone can help me.

I was at a family wedding yesterday (and had a great time) but I have a couple of photo's I need some work doing on. I do not want to post the photo's to the board as they are of other members of my family.

I have two pictures of my niece - one with me that makes her look drunk (she wasn't) and the other with my cousins daughter. I would like to have my niece's eyes copied from the second picture to the first but can't get it right myself.

I was wondering if some kind restorer would allow me to email them the pictures and be able to do as I asked.

Technical Help / Corel Paint Shop Pro X

Not sure if this should be in technical or on the photo boards.

I have been offered the above software (full version with activation key, etc), via a secret sale on a software website thai I have previously used, for £19.99.

Is this good software for editing photo's, is it easy to use and understand, etc. I currently have a free version of Serif Photoplus8 that I find quite awkward to use at times.

Also is this a good price for this software, or should I not bother

Technical Help / External Hard Drive

Hi All

I am probably being a bit dense here

(blame it on a stressful few weeks at work) but if I buy an external hard drive, does this work just like a memory stick i.e I just save the data to it but need a PC with the relevant programme to open it.

Do external hard drives need formatting to the PC and is it possible to copy all of my current hard drive onto an external one?
