« on: Wednesday 13 February 08 07:16 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,

I am trying to find the family of Mary WEIR PATE/PAIT/PEET/PEAT - my 5xGreat-Grandmother.

Mary was born at Lesmahagow in the parish of Lanark, Scotland about 1758.

Her early life is still a mystery, she had a sister named Janet, her brothers were the Reverend James and Colonel John Peat of Inner Leitham, Scotland.

Thanks Dave for all your assistance.

I certainly do have a lot to mull over.

On Mary's Headstone described her as:

"Mrs Mary Larkham, aged 87, a native of Lesmarago[sic], Scotland."

[She was nearer to 83 given her age stated in 1828 and that she bore a child in 1799]

Hello,

My 5xGreat-Grandmother, Mary WEIR (PEAT) was born in Scotland in 1758c.

How would she have got from Scotland to Northumberland?  Would there be records?

Mary was convicted in Northumberland 10 August 1793.  Transported to Australia in 1794.

Thank you,

Christine

Many thanks to you all for replying and the information.

Lancashire / Re: THOMAS & ELIZABETH HATTON nee FLEETWOOD
« on: Sunday 10 February 08 07:35 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
I am researching the Liderth/Lyderth family and have Elizabeth's daughter Emma (b abt 1851) married to William Lyderth. In 1891 Elizabeth is living with her other daughter Mary Anne and husband Thomas Cotter Fleetwood. Emma's son Henry is also staying with them. They live at 22 Berwick St, West Derby.

Hope this helps.
Kind regards
Tina

Hello Tina,

Thank you for your reply.

I am not sure there is a connection with our FLEETWOOD ancestors.

My Elizabeth HATTON nee FLEETWOOD is a Widow in the Lancashire 1891 Census.  Though, she have a daughter called, Emma - too.

Happy hunting!

Christine
