« on: Sunday 03 February 08 11:40 GMT (UK) »I've was about to reply to someone who says we have hot matches, and as soon as I got into GenesReunited, I got the same pop up as last time. It was a virus alert from MalWareAlert (which I don't have).
So I clicked on delete, to ignore the box, but I was taken to their site anyway. It told me it had found all sorts of dreadful things on my computer.
I closed it, checked my computer with my AVG and Zone Alarm, and all is fine.
It's deceitful and infuriating.

Same here.
I found that if you close the browser and re-open then it doesn't happen.
I have AVG and it picks up everything, if there is someting.
Norton has a nasty habit of creating names for stuff that doesn't exist (Malware pop ups for example) and making you think that it has found a virus, when really there was nothing there.

I'm hoping someone can help point me in the right direction with this one.
My grandfather Edward Arthur J Redsull born 17 June 1936 was apparently adopted quite early in life, by the Redsull family of Deal, Kent.
Edward, known as Ted, was possibly (part?) French and had the name DeVos.
How would I go about finding out about adoptions?
Ted died in 2001 and my mother doesn't have much info at all.

Suffolk / Stanley SCALES

I'm looking to find out about Stanley Charles SCALES.
Born around 1899 in Haughley, Suffolk (based on 1901 census) to Isaac SCALES and Elizabeth (nee English).
Stanley's siblings are Ellen M, Alice Maud and Gertrude Emma.
Stanley was the second wife of Lily Bridges (Feakes when she married Stanley) in 1922.
The daughter of Stanley and Lily is my grandmother born 1923.
Lily remarried in 1924.
My grandmother lived with her father for a short time, before he took her to live with Ellen.
She never saw him again, but would dearly love to know what happened to him.
She was not allowed to talk about him as a child, but does recall someone saying he might have gone to Cambridge.
I can't find a death record for him, I can't find a remarriage and I haven't been able to find him on any military records either.
Any advice or suggestions would be very welcome
