Derbyshire Completed Look ups / Crich look-ups appreciated ! COMPLETED
« on: Tuesday 28 September 10 18:07 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for James Jackson who was born in Crich around 1812 (according to later census').  On his marriage cert. he gives his father as William Jackson, Stockinger.

There is a baptism for a Frederick Jackson, son of William (stockinger) & Elizabeth of Crich - baptised 14th July 1816.....but I do not have access to the earlier records.

I would really appreciate any informatio0n on James and any other siblings.....and any other information regarding his father William.  If I have the correct person in the census' - William was born in Crich c. 1787.

I know it is asking a lot!!  But there may even be a marriage between a William Jackson & an Elizabeth......fingers croissed x

Kent Lookup Requests / Look up - Dover
« on: Sunday 12 September 10 08:13 BST (UK)  »
I would appreciate help with a baptism entry at St Mary the Virgin, Dover.

Mary, daughter of William & Mariana (sometimes Marana, Marina, Maryhannah) LAYCOCK.

According to LDS she was baptised 19th March 1809.  Any further information given would be wonderful.

On her parents marriage (in Richmond North Yks) William was a "soldier with the 2nd North Yorkshire Militia" - so I assume he was stationed at Dover Castle.

On one of the later census' Mary gives her birth place as Dover Castle..

Thank you

Canada Lookup Request / Toronto death record - updated
« on: Thursday 02 September 10 14:49 BST (UK)  »
Does anyone have access to details of the death in Toronto of
Walter Jarka ?

I now think it could have been Montreal.  I have found an item on the internet which says - Walter Frank Jarka was buried at Montreal Mount Royal Cemetery in 1947 - but his age was given as 52 - which is a bit younger that it should be.

Thank you
Kathy

Yorkshire (West Riding) Lookup Requests / Kirkburton marriage look up please....
« on: Wednesday 25 August 10 13:14 BST (UK)  »

I wonder if I could request a look-up of the marriage :-

20th January 1831 between John TOWNEND and Mariah THORNHILL.

I have been searching (unsuccessfully) for a marrtiage betweenJ.T. and Mariah Thornley.....(1st child born/bpt May 1831).....could this be them?

Thornley & Thornhill are pretty close.

I would like to know if there is an occupation or abode listed....or if there is any question of a mis-transcription of the bride's surname - also, any witnesses????

I know it's a lot to ask.......thank you

Dublin / Can you solve my Hendrick(s) mystery?
« on: Tuesday 08 September 09 14:53 BST (UK)  »
I have found a family in the 1911 census, which I think may be the family I am looking for....but need to find out the name of the father - he had died by 1911!

In 1911, living at Stephen Street, Royal Exchange, Dublin

Margaret Hendrick aged 56  widow   born Kildare
Patrick Hendrick son aged 22  Hairdresser  born Dublin
Peter Hendrick son aged 16  Factory Hand  born Dublin

(In the same street there is also a Teresa Hendrick aged 44 - widowed - with two sons John (15) & Patrick (13).    I don't know if these two families are connected - or if they are the people I am looking for!

Is there anyone able to look for them in 1901?

I am searching for the family of a Peter Hendrick(s) who was listed at 21 on his marriage, in England, on 25th December 1925....giving his father (deceased) at Patrick Hendricks, labourer.

Family story claims he was born in Ireland, (although possibly had some connection with Waterford - unsure about this).....family also says that he came to England and joined the army - changing his name to Hendricks at that time......they think he was previously known as Halloran (or variant).

Any suggestions welcome!   Is it possible that his mother could have married twice (hence his alternate surname)????  Help!
