Durham Completed Look up Requests / Gibson in Durham - 1851

Hello All!

I'm looking for some help! ???

I've got the 1861 census record for:

Mary Ann Gibson, Head, Married, 36, Washerwoman, South Shields Co Durham
George Thomas Gibson, Son, 9, Scholar, Scotland
John Gibson, Son, 5, Scholar, Hetton-le-Hole Co Durham
Joseph Gibson, Son, 3, Hetton-le-Hole Co Durham
Matthew Gibson, Son, 9mths, Hetton-le-Hole

1861 Census, Houghton le Spring District
Family Number: 14745.6
Hetton-le-Hole with Easington Lane 1861 Census, Hetton-le-Hole Township, 11
Union Street

If Mary was married, where was her husband?!  Does anyone have access to the 1851 census or access to a marriage record?  This is bugging me now!
I can't trace any of the children other than Joseph in future census records either...bit of a nightmare!

Any help would be gratefully received!

Durham Lookup Requests / George Brown b.c1822 - but where?! 1841/1851

I've recently been on the durhamrecordsonline site and found out a lot of information about my branches that come from that area.  Thing is, I've got as far back as I can and have now hit a brick wall...

George Brown was born c.1822 but I don't know where!  He went on to marry Eleanor who was born c1833 in Yorkshire, but she died before the 1871 census.  They had
Charlotte Brown b.c1850 Yarm, Yorks
Charles Brown b.c1857 Guisborough, Yorks
Emily Brown b.c1858 Bishop Auckland, Co Durham
Nathaniel Brown b.c1861 Bishop Auckland, Co. Durham

I've got George Brown on the 1871 census (RG10/4985 pg 38) living in Hetton-le-Hole and it states he was born in Northamptonshire, Easton. (Got quite excited at this point as it's not too far from me!)  But, and there's always a but, on the 1861 census they were living in Monk Hesleden, Castle Eden Colliery and he was listed as being born in Stamford, Lincolnshire.

So right now I'm a bit confused.  The two elder children I know of were born in Yorkshire, as was his wife so does that point to there?  And where on earth do Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire come into it?!

Hope someone can help!

I have trawled through all the census information I have access to but would like to get other record information for any Edg(e)leys that were born in Wickhambrook or the surrounding areas.  Please help!

Hi,

I am looking to tie up some family information.  According to Commonwealth War Grave records, Adolphus Bertie Edgley (c1891) was born to James Edgley and Betsey Jane Shave from Wickhambrook. 
I have been told that he also had a brother called Major Gaskoin Edgley.  He can be found on the 1891 census, aged 3 although his parents are James and Jane Edgley. ::)

Adolphus Bertie Edgley went to Australia in December 1911.  He joined the Australian Army in WW1 and was killed in action on 07/08/1915 in Turkey. :'(
Major Gaskoin Edgley joined the Suffolk Regiment in WW1 and was later killed in action on 16/05/1917 in France. :'(

The questions I want to answer is whether these two were brothers?  What happened to Adolphus after he moved to Australia?  Was he married?  Was Major Gaskoin Edgley married? 
They are difficult to find so if anyone can find any information on them, I'd be grateful!

Hi,

I am looking for information on Joseph Gibson b.c.1860 in Hetton-Le-Hole.  I have managed to find him on the 1881 & 1891 census records but not the other two. 
He married Elizabeth A b.c1858 and had the following children:
John T(homas?) Gibson b.c.1882
Annie Gibson b.c. 1884
Mary A Gibson b.c. 1887

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
