Derbyshire / Henry Mellors the younger of Scarcliffe
« on: Wednesday 10 August 16 13:12 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to find a Henry Mellors of Scarcliffe who according to a bastardy bond was named Father to my Gt Gt Gt  Grandfather Henry Houldsworth in 1817 in Scarcliffe. On the document he is Henry the younger as his Father Henry is also on it as one of the overseers.
So far I have not found him.

World War One / CWWG search

Would anyone like to share their thoughts,
I just looked up a relative on the CWGC site for Tom Taylor, 14505, 1/5 btn, South Lancs reg.
kia 13.4.1918 and buried at Vielle Chappelle. All this information I have had for quite a while.
every information point I researched gave his death as 13.4.18.
now looking at a grave registration report form added to the site, I had not seen before, shows his death as 9.4.18.
5 days earlier ? Would this more likely to be a clerical error than a correct date.
regards

Dunraven Castle at Southerndown, South Wales was used as a recovery hospital by the Glamorgan Red Cross. Does anyone know whether any patient records still exist from WW1.

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Manchester cathedral marriage c1780
« on: Sunday 06 June 10 19:13 BST (UK)  »
hello,
wondered if anyone might be able to see whether a marriage to place in Manchester Cathedral in or around 1780
George Challinor to Anna ?
I have researched this family to Oldham, they had 5 Children baptised in St Mary's
but didnt get married there, neither were there any burials. I travelled to Oldam Library to find this, they suggested I searched Manchester Cathedral and Prestwich Church.
any help would be appreciated.

Pembrokeshire Lookup Requests / 1841 address names
« on: Thursday 13 May 10 18:18 BST (UK)  »
hello,
could anyone help me with the whereabouts today of two address placenames on the 1841 census.
firstly Tynewy, St David, Clych Mawr.
taken from RG no, HOIO7, Piece 1444, book 4/7 page 6.
Daniel Evan was head.
Secondly
Evelvach, St David, Clych Mawr.
Henry Phillip was head.
what I wish to know is where on today maps are these places, as I have looked on an ordinance survey map and found neither.
the reason behind this is Daniel Evan is Father to Henry Phillips Wife Anne.
