The Common Room / longest childbearing span
« on: Saturday 01 January 05 20:12 GMT (UK)  »
In the chatroom the other night we were discussing large families and wondered what is the longest timespan that people have come across in their research for one couple producing their children?
Not including second wives or eldest children having babies out of wedlock who were "adopted " by their grandparents.

Derbyshire / SLACK - Heanor?
« on: Saturday 04 December 04 14:17 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for information about John and Sarah SLACK.  They had a son, Thomas christened Heanor 1828.  Pallots marriage index shows a possible marriage: John to Sarah Fletcher 1819 Heanor.  If this is my John and Sarah I presume there were other children.
Any sightings in 1841, 1851 census would be
really appreciated.

Lancashire / Music Hall artist
« on: Thursday 07 October 04 20:35 BST (UK)  »
I'm trying to find some info about Richard PLUMBE who was an artist.  The 1881 census says he was a landscape artist.  My mother says he was a lightning artist (like Rolf Harris) in the Music Halls.  He lived in Bury, Rochdale, Liverpool and Birmingham.
I'm sure he wasn't famous ???

London and Middlesex / VAUS
« on: Sunday 03 October 04 22:30 BST (UK)  »
I am researching the Vaus family who were Thames watermen/lightermen.  The names Benjamin Thomas and Augustus Hiram crop up in most generations.  Has anyone come across the birth (or first marriage) of Benjamin Thomas Vaus who married his second wife, Sarah Harley, at St Botolphs without Aldergate in 1762?

I am researching the Woodford family who lived in Beaulieu and Boldre (New Forest).  Has anyone come across the birth of Matthew Woodford probably around 1715?
Look forward to hearing from anyone else researching this family
