Kent Lookup Requests / Edward George b 1865 Sheldwich

Good morning
I have Edward George b 1865 Sheldwich marrying Matilda Jane Allard in 1887 Blean Kent. Matilda is with Edward until the 1901 census where she is not. I cannot find any death for her. That is my first question - can anyone find her death/re-marriage?

Secondly, going from census I see that Edward has a new wife in 1911 - an Alice b 1882 Northfleet. He is shown as living in Strood, Kent with new children. I cannot find a marriage and thus Alice maiden name. I cannot find the births registered for the new children anywhere apart from son Frederick Henry. Going on the census the details are:

Edith b 1907 Strood; Frederick Henry b 1909 Strood; Clare b 1910 Strood.

Can anyone help me with the above queries.

Kent / Richard Evernden b 1812 Allington, Maidstone, Kent

Good afternoon
I have a Richard Evernden b 1812 in Allington who married (I think) 17 Oct 1835 Addington to a Mary Ann ........ don't know her maiden name. She was supposedly born in 1822 East Indies (British Subject). I think they had quite a few children.

Mary Ann's surname would be appreciated if anyone can find it please!

I think, from census that Richard was previously married to a Jane Steele who died in 1839. They had two children.

Good morning
I am researching the Arnold family who originated from Chilham, Kent and some family members moved up to London. I am seeking more information on:

Mary Harriett Arnold b 18 Sept 1856 Southwark, christened 12 Oct 1856 Southwark (with siblings) and her brother Alfred A b 1860 Southwark (not found christening yet).

I have them both on 1861 census as at 3a Surrey Banks, London with parents Charles Arnold (b1828) and mother Emma Davis b 1835.

Good morning - I am struggling with this family. What I know:
Thomas Arnold b 1800 Chilham, kent m Mary Ann Philpott b 1808. They had quite a few children, including son thomas b c 1828 Chilham. I have 1841 and 1851 census but then he disappears off the face of the earth.

Can anyone help with him please?

My other one is Jane Ann Arnold b 1842 Crundale, Kent m 1875 Ashford to Edward Hobden b 1840. After 1881 census, here again, I cannot find any more.

Essex / Stanley James Andrews b 1909 Woolwich but lived in Essex

Good evening
I wasn't sure whether to put this in Essex or London. Stanley appears on 1911 census with grandparents at 521 Romford Road, Forest Gate, Essex. There is also on the census George James Andrews widower. Is he Stanley's father and, if so, who was Stanley's mother? George was single in 1901, if he is not Stanley's father then who is? Dilemma!

Any help would be appreciated in finding out who Stanley belongs to.

Good morning everyone
I have a Richard Edward Nye b 1870 Canterbury in my tree and I know he married a Mary Ann Austin in 1899 Blean, Kent.

My dilemma: who were his parents? Were they
William Hilland Nye b 1844 and Martha Mary Castle or
Edward Nye b 1837 and Louisa Cherison b 1839

Any help would be appreciated. I don't want to put Richard with the wrong parents!!!

I have two Emily Church's in my tree:
Emily Church b 1877 Stonham Aspal, dau of William Church and Julia Race and
Emily Church b 1879 Stonham Aspal, dau of Charles Church and Patience Hale.

I know an Emily Church married Frederick Race in 1895 Stonham Aspal but which Emily was it?

If anyone could help it would be much appreciated.

London and Middlesex / Harding/Mortimore/Bird Dilemma!

Good morning - this is my biggest dilemma yet and am hoping someone out there can help me unravel it.

Lucy Wright (nee Mortimore) b 1863 Portsmouth (my great grandmother) -
marries Arthur Henry Harding in 1910 at Islington Registry Office. However, between 1900 and 1911 they have had children

and I have some baptism certificates for these children giving Arthur and Lucy as the parents!

My problem is that Arthur Henry Harding was born 4 July 1872 Islington. He was adopted by a William Bird and Mary Ann Saville - I found an 1891 census giving Arthur Henry Bird "adopted" by William Bird. Arthur married a Sarah Ada Caudell in 1892 but as Arthur Henry Bird! It is thought Sarah died in 1909. I have found a death for a Sarah Ada Harding. Is she my Sarah? What was Arthur up to (besides bedding another woman and having children by her)?

London and Middlesex / Wallis Dilemma!

Hi - my dilemma is:
Frederick William Wallis b 15 Oct 1871 or is he Frederick William Filby?? According to previous research on Rootschat it was determined that Frederick's parents were William Frederick (Frederick William) Wallis b 1844 Somerset and Emma Eliza Filby b 1851 Suffolk.

I can only find a Frederick William Filby baptism dated 24 April 1873 in London (Private baptism) - mother Emma Eliza Filby - no father. However, according to previous research William Frederick Wallis b 1844 married Emma Eliza Filby 13 Aug 1872 in Shoreditch.

My dilemma therefore is why was Frederick William Filby baptised in 1873 with father unknown? He carries on the family name of Frederick William Wallis on further census etc. Why is there this discrepancy with dates etc. Are there more than one couple William frederick Wallis and Emma Eliza Filby?? When was Frederick Wiliam Wallis b 1851 name changed?
