Hi Newbe,   weather is fine,   low to mid 20's rather cool for this time of year in WA,   have not had a 40 deg day yet.....most unusual.    Still warm enough for the reptiles to visit my back door  :o  Dogs not happy.

Otherwise life is pretty damn good,  hope this is so for all of you.

Thanks for the message,  :)   Abishai Green Pressney you mention died in 1858 not born,  he is in fact a brother to my 3x Gr Grandmother.

I have PM'd you more details.

I would like a ticket to the 1850's in Ireland,  find out all the info about my Irish ancestors,   it would be easier then as they would still be alive,  quite impossible now as many of you would agree.

Then forward to the Victorian Era and stay there,  I've quite a bit to do in this period so I'll find me a nice thatched cottage and then visit Rellies.....Can I take a case of Moet with me?  oops and me hairdryer?  ;D ;D ;D ;D

I agree Danuslave....Me and my OH have separate bank accounts,   he wouldn't bat an eyelid if he knew how much I've spent.....unfortunately FH is not one of his interests.

Hi Amber   :) Thanks for the link,  very useful,  found quite a bit of history of the Prestneys in Essex.

Diddy,  thanks for the reply,  my 4x Grandfather is William Pressney,  born 1787 Nayland,  I have found a birth for a William Prestney same year,  but cannot find a death for him.    His children were born in Colchester,  I presume he died there too,  but Sudbury is a possiblity also.    He married an Elizabeth Green of Sudbury,  unable to tell of her death either.     I am thinking perhaps he is this William Prestney I found and may have to ask the Suffolk Records Office for some research.

Thanks  :)

Suffolk / PRESSNEY/PRESTNEY - Nayland, Suffolk
« on: Sunday 04 October 09 00:52 BST (UK)  »
Hi all  ;)

I am trying to discover a little more about my ancestors with the above names.   There seems to be little information on the origin of the name and for how long the name has been in England.    On the surface the name can vary from Pressney to Prestney depending on how they said it I suppose.    I know that my Pressney/Prestney was born in Nayland and lived in Sudbury,  but because the name varied between years I have no way of knowing for sure if they are the right ones.

Would there be anyone out there who has any knowledge of the name or alternatively know where it comes from.

Cheers in advance for any help  :D
