Hi Willow and Sheila
Does this mean that GGrandads school was diagonally opposite the convent?
It is great getting all that background a relative is going to be over there next year and wants to have a look at the area.

Hi Valda
Thank you for all that information you have given me a lot to think about and work on.  Francis was a confectioner and He owned a confectionary shop in Wolverhampton, the family lived in Tettenhall Rd a relative has told me it was the 3rd house from the city end but we do not know if that is where the shop was. The 1791 date was a baptism not a birth date and he may have been a few years old then.  I know that jane died in 1837 but could not find anything on Francis so I will check out the 1857 one.
Once again thank you for all your help.
regards

Hi
Thanks heaps Lucy you have found Nurse Tricker.  One of Christopher's sisters was called Elizabeth I had only only found her in papers past where she had taken someone in who was injured.
I haven't found them arriving in Aust. or NZ. Australian shipping gives arrivals and departures 1788-1968 but I haven't found them there.
The daughter born in 1881 was called Emily. Christopher was a Coachman when he lived in London and I think he was listed as a labourer in NZ. I understand He owned property in Newtown but am not sure how to track that down.
I will send for those Certificates to see if they help.  I have the plot No. at Karori Cemetery.
Thank you for your help
Cheers

New Zealand Completed Requests / Finding the Marshalls on a Ship
« on: Saturday 26 July 08 09:55 BST (UK)  »
Hi
I am trying to find Christopher John George Marshall and his wife Harriett Marshall/Deane. I have them in London on the 1861 census and also think the are still there in 1871 but in Aug 1881 they had a daughter born in Rintoul St Newtown.  The family think they arrived in Petone but I have found no trace of them at the Settlers Museum. They may have come via Sydney but also no trace in Australian Shipping. They may have had 1 or 2 children with them one of them Thomas. I don't know where to go from here.
Also I am looking for Nurse Tricker who said to be Christopher's sister in his death notice.
Help Please ???

Staffordshire / Does anyone know this school?

hi everyone
I am looking for a school in St Johns Square Wolverhampton. It would have been there in 1841. Also would this be the same school described as being in Paradise St in 1841 census.
