Hi everyone,

I'm trying to find some more information on David Davis and Sarah Moses, who were married in the Great Synagogue, London, on Feb 5 1806.

David Davis was listed on the marriage as the son of "Jacob Irishman", and Sarah Moses was listed as daughter of "Schwartz Aharon"

I believe Sarah Moses had a sister Rebecca and a brother Emanuel.

I would love to hear from anyone who is researching these families, or if anyone can advise me on how to find out some more information, that would be great.

Appreciate any help!

Thanks,
Anne

Lanarkshire / Re: Farrell / Muldoon / Blair Mystery ?

I know - that's what I was thinking Megan!  The only thing I could think of was that Michael Muldoon was sick for three years before he died.  Maybe that had something to do with it?

I guess we will wait to check out the birth certificates, and see if they can shed any light on the situation.  Can't wait!

Oops just saw your post.  I was also wondering why they never married.  Maybe he was already married??

Nothing is simple with this family  :)

Hi Megan, it's Anne here.

I checked the IGI and found another two children listed with father Michael Blair and mother Sarah Farrell.

They are both named Thomas - One born Apr 8 1866, Clyde District, Glasgow, and the other one also named Thomas - he was born Nov 3 1867.  The first one probably died as a baby.  There are two deaths of Thomas Blair born in 1866 from 1866-67 in Glasgow - one is in the Clyde district.

Unfortunately I have no credits left on SP, and as I am work right now (on lunch break of course  :) ) I don't have access to add any more   :(  I will do it as soon as I get home, unless you can find them before that.  I just couldn't wait until then to let you know...

Talk to you soon, Anne

I am trying to make out what the children's names are on this record.  I know James and Pat, but I'm not sure about the other one - it looks like maybe Byrne or Bryene, but I'm not sure  ???  Any ideas please?

Thanks,
Anne

Hi Mudge - sorry I forgot to say - this was a very small photo, and I can't seem to get a better scan than this.  I'll see if I can get some help from my son, who is more familiar with this, but I've been really pleased with the results so far anyway  :)

Thanks so much,
Anne

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Clean up needed for a war hero please

Can Uncle James be cleaned up please?  This photo was taken in Salonica in June 1945.  James was serving in Greece with the No 1 Bomb Disposal Platoon.  Unfortunately he died a few days before the war ended.

Would really appreciate whatever can be done with this!

Thanks so much,
Anne :)

Census and Resource Discussion / Re: Proceed with Caution - Ancestry Hints?
« on: Wednesday 03 September 08 13:41 BST (UK)  »
I've had a couple of really good leads from the hints - but most of them are entirely unrelated.  I definitely "proceed with caution".

On that note, I am currently on a UK subscription, and got my renewal notice lately.  I see that they have a UK and Ireland subscription now.  Is it worth upgrading to this?  I have many Irish ancestors, and it can be hard to trace them sometimes.  Do you think this upgrade would help me?

Thanks,
Anne
