The Stay Safe Board / Great day in history - the first approval of use for a Covid-19 vaccine

Great day in history - the first approval of use for a Covid-19 vaccine.
It happens to be in the United Kingdom, but hopefully other countries will approve it soon too.
How amazing. This is a monumental task. It's hard to imagine how much work so many teams of people have gone through, and yet keeping the scrutinty of the whole process to the very highest levels of safety and compliance.
The vaccine!

The Stay Safe Board / Finding the risk in your area indirectly using Integrated Risk Management Plans
« on: Friday 27 November 20 11:17 GMT (UK) »
Hi all,
I was searching for something else (chemical plants that fall into a particular hazard category), anyhow I discovered that if you search for this exact phrase on Google it gives very intersting detailed demographic for youe area:
Integrated Risk Management Plan Fire
You may get a page on the planning, but it's the plan that you want with the maps and data etc.. There are correlations between data of certain demographic and the Covid-19 cases, it seems.
(You may need to do a bit of digging around to find the plans though, or find the supporting documents or consultation document used to make the plans)
Here is an example of one for Greater Manchester:
https://manchesterfire.gov.uk/media/1092/irmp-supporting-documentation-2016-20.pdf
Here is an example of one for Cheshire:
https://www.cheshirefire.gov.uk/Assets/1/IRMP-14-Consultation-Report.pdf
You will find things like levels of deprivation, locations of care homes, age demographic and so on, as 'heat maps' of the area. Fascinating stuff.

The Stay Safe Board / Asda announce "Antibacterial coating" on some baskets and trolleys
« on: Thursday 05 November 20 00:10 GMT (UK) »
I received an email from Asda detailing safeguards and measures that they are (or have) put in place for the next difficult period against thr spread of Covid. The safeguards that they are putting in place must be applauded, of course. There is one item that concerns me.
They announce an "antibacterial coating" on some baskets and trolleys as used in the Nightingale Excel Hospital.
Wonderful, except that the Covid-19 is a virus, and not a bacteria.
Totally separate beasts. One is a living organism (bacteria), the other isn't (virus).
In many ways, what's good for a bacteria is bad for a virus.
Any thoughts?

The Stay Safe Board / Ham Unavailable at Asda
« on: Friday 10 July 20 13:16 BST (UK) »
Hi all,
It appears that whatever type of ham I look at Asda for our Click and Collect is shown as unavailable.
Has anybody else noticed that at all today?
Trystan
