No I havent. On a tree in Ancestry someone had George's parents as William and Susan Reeve  so I've just made contact and the person said they didnt get the information from parish records. It had been a while since they researched the line but they thought it came from Boyd's marriage index but that the connection was speculative on their part.

1803 Jacob WALFORD & Susan EDWARDS  Dedham
1805 William WALFORD & Susan REEVE Bocking *
1815 Samuel WALFORD & Sarah GOODY Halstead
1815 Charles WALFORD & Sarah AUGER Burnham
1819 William WALFORD & Mary CHALLIS White Notley
1828 George WALFORD & Rebecca RAINER Bocking

I'll go and have a look at Seax again for Bocking.

Thank you for explaining how it works. :)

Hi Bryant

Anything's possible regarding Ann. I'm clutching at straw's really re George Gibling Walford's link to Gainford Gibling Walford but Ive never come across any evidence to link Gainsford to George's family.  It looks like I'll have to finally put Ann to bed and the link to the other Walford's in the region. Thanks for taking an interest.

I'm obviously being dense but how do you actually see any content. I can drill down to see a table with indexes for Great Tey Baptisms and burials, 1765-1812 but all I can then see is an order button which if you click says "To order documents for your next visit to the Record Office". Browsing the catalogue seems to just take me round in a loop.

Hi Bryant

I never did find out who Gainsford's mother Ann married (maybe she never did). Ive tried to find a link with George Gibling Walford's family (1807-1874) but so far no luck in joining the dots. I had wondered if Ann was the sister of George's father and had possibly travelled to Marks tey from Great Tey to have the baby christened  (he's logged as a 'bastard son' of Ann at Marks Tey) but thats just me daydreaming!

I am focusing my attention on trying to find out more about George Gibling Walford to see if there's any chance that Gainsford/Ann are linked. A long shot I know but worth a go.

Thanks for that.  :)Any help in confirming his birth/parents would be appreciated.

I would be very grateful if someone could look up George Gibling Walford's baptism/christening details and his parents names. Census records lead me to believe he was born in Great Tey.

Ancestry has his death recorded as:

Estimated birth year:    abt 1807
Year of Registration:    1874
Quarter of Registration:    Jan-Feb-Mar
Age at Death:    67
District:    Braintree
County:    Essex
Volume:    4a
Page:    262

Census records place his place of birth as Great Tey and again indicate 1807 as the year of his birth. Its possible that his parents may have been a William and Susan Walford but I have no data to back that up so any help would be much appreciated.
