Yorkshire (West Riding) Lookup Requests / No birth record Leeds
« on: Thursday 12 February 09 11:34 GMT (UK)  »
I have a William Yewdall buried at Leeds St Mary's after service at Leeds St Peter's church.
The burial was 1835 and the age of William 56 years. - (Info taken from film at FHS)
Try as I might, I am unable to locate William's christening date or fathers name.
So far I have looked at records for both Leeds and Bradford (even the Quaker records for the period 1777-1781) found nothing?
Any suggestions as to where to look next, Bradford/Leeds archives being local to me?

My late grandfather and grandmother lived/died in Billingham.
Could anyone with access to burial index confirm death dates and possible confirm location?
Names are Joseph Yewdall b1885 and Florence Amelia Yewdall (nee Keighley) b1886.
Any information received greatly appreciated.

« on: Sunday 16 November 08 19:19 GMT (UK)  »
I am at the present assisting a fellow Chatter to locate a family history.
The person I want to trace is one William Yewdall born Eccleshill Bradford.
He was the youngest child of George and Ann Yewdall.
1841 census shows family unit being:
 George @50 years.
 Ann       @45 years.
 Sarah daughter @25 years.
 Thomas son       @ 20 years.
James & John twin sons @15 years.
 Sarah daughter  @ 8 years.
 William son         @ 5 years.
Any information from census records 1851 onwards appreciated. (location required)

The Common Room / Broken link to IGI?
« on: Thursday 23 October 08 20:10 BST (UK)  »
Being a regular user of Hugh Wallis's link to the IGI:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountyYorkshire_(A-D).htm
I was quite surprised to see that when I selected a particular church to check on records for a given surname,  I got all records for that given surname rather than church info?
Or has someone mucked up?

Quaker Family History / Quaker records
« on: Tuesday 05 August 08 19:17 BST (UK)  »
I have in my possession an old book printed with the transcript of Christenings/Marriages and Burials for Bradford (West Yorkshire).-printed 1926
My question is on the original marriage record, would the grooms father be recorded.
Period covers 1650-1926.
(In our family there are a large number of same christian named individuals, and it would be nice to keep track of relatives).
Any feedback appreciated.
