Staffordshire Lookup Requests / Birth look up Ogley Hay/Norton Canes please
« on: Tuesday 19 August 08 16:06 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to find a parish record for my ggg grandfather Leonard Heath.
he was born 1816/17 in the Ogley Hay/Norton Canes area Shenstone was even given as a birthplace on one census entry.
On his marriage cert to Elizabeth Stackhouse, Rushall 1843, fathers name was left blank, so I know there is a possibility he was illegitimate.
If anyone has any information that could help I would be most grateful.
Thanks Kim  :)

Rutland Lookup Requests / Re: Mary Woods - Luffenham

Hi Jo,
I have had a reply from Mike regards your question.
His gg grandmother Mary was William's sister, so although he has William in his tree, he also has no information on marriage details to Mary.
He seems to think 1836 marriage date could be wrong as there is no such date recorded in Luffenham Parish records. Did you get 1836 from LDS? They are not accurate from my experience.
William was living with his parents and brother in 1841 census.
Harriet I believe was William and Mary's first child she was not born until 1845 and according to Mike there are no suitable entries before that date.
I will send you a PM with my e-mail and will also pm Mike.
Best wishes Kim  :)

Hi Ricky,
Yes I know, I live in Rutland just wanted to be sure.
There is forum on Rutnet for local geneology.
Maybe you have tried already but some users have local church knowledge.

Hi all,
My mum has just found Grandad's marriage cert, at the time of his marriage to nan he was serving with the RA as a gunner based in Woolwich, his service no is even written on the certificate.
How could I find out more information and if any of his old colleaugues would still be alive. He was there 1932 and  know he carried on until after WWII.
He was at the battle of Dunkirk and I think on his return had to go to hospital for a while with Rhuematic fever?
Any help would be most grateful.
Thanks Kim
