Northamptonshire Lookup Requests / 1841 census
« on: Tuesday 02 September 08 21:20 BST (UK)  »
Could anyone find my g g g grandfather William Fricknell (or Frecknall) possibly in Worksop in 1841. It's the only census he is in because he died in Islington in 1848. He was married to Elizabeth Nelson. She was born in Sutton cum Duckmanton, Derbyshire in about 1802. They had Hannah, Worksop 1833, George, Worksop 1835 and William, Worksop 1836. Their next son is born in Southwell after 1841.  William, the head of the family was a cordwainer(shoemaker). I don't know where or when he was born.  I'm hoping that someone can find the family and I'll be able to find out at last. Any help would be much appreciated.

If you have any Frecknall/ Fricknell/Frignal or similar names lurking somewhere in your tree, would you mind passing them on to me, wherever they're from, as I am trying to work out the family groups. Probably an impossible job.....Thanks very much. We might even be related.....Deoxy

Derbyshire Lookup Requests / Fricknell bithplace and date
« on: Friday 25 July 08 00:21 BST (UK)  »
Hello, I've been trying to find the parents and siblings of my ggg grandfather William Fricknell/Frecknall/Frignal  ::)His middle name was Merrils/Marrells/Merrile  ::) He married Elizabeth Nelson at Scarcliffe 31 Dec 1832.  Their first child and only daughter Hannah, was born at Worksop in  about Nov 1833. Elizabeth came from Sutton cum Duckmanton. William was a cordwainer (shoemaker). There seems to have been a tradition of the children having their mother's surname as a middle name. I can't track William back any further.  I would very much appreciate any help given. Thanks. Deoxy

Hampshire & Isle of Wight / Stephens
« on: Friday 04 July 08 22:04 BST (UK)  »
Hello. I need some help looking for my Stephens relatives. My grandmother was Mabel Dora Stephens b. 1908 South Stoneham - probably in Shirley, Southampton. I am back to about 1800 on her husband's side (Harry Belton Wray Frecknall) but there are so many Stephens' I can't find her parents. I think she had sisters Gertrude and Freda. The only Gertrude I found was born in 1889. Freda I can't find at all. She married Ben Lewis. I found Freda Olive Lewis b. Dec q. 1905 South Stoneham, but that might be someone whose maiden name is Lewis. Mabel Dora Stephens died on 8th July 1941 at 11 Victory Crescemt , Millbrook, with two of her children, in a bomb shelter. Any help would be much appreciated. Deoxy
