Staffordshire / Collins "Of" Wednesbury
« on: Tuesday 27 October 09 12:26 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to find the parents of my 4th G Grandmother  Martha Collins c 9 May 1784 at Wednesbury Staffordshire I believe that they were John Collins b abt 1752 of Wednesbury and Ann Collins ( Maiden name I think ) b abt 1756 of Wednesbury beyond this I am at a brick wall.

Also what is meant by "Of" Wednesbury does it mean they lived there or were they born there?

Any help on Marriages or ancestors would be appreciated

Thanks Brianz

Lincolnshire / Re: John Willson Auctioneer and Valuer of Alford Lincs Help

Thanks again Geoff E
I have found a marriage for John Willson Snr to a Eunice Tate in Nov 1805, as we have Tate as a second christian name amongst the children it appears to be correct. The death that you mention would seem to fit, the age means he was born abt 1790 but give or take a year or two it fits.

Many thanks Geoff E
The baptism must be correct I found this one on the IGI but wanted proof from the parish registers. The John buried at Alford I do not think is mine as he is too early to be a son and my John died in 1889 and is buried at Hogsthorpe. The marriage is interesting though I will check that out, thanks again.
